Hypothetically, if Manny Pacquiao was to be found doping...how much would you care?

just read a post from a guy who said something to the effect of "even if he was on drugs, who cares?".....just wondered how many fans think like that. How much would you care personally?

I would be surprised but not shocked, but i dont know how much i would care about it since i think most top fighters have taken something illegal at some point of their careers,so i probably wouldnt care much.

    Toney did it
    Roy did it
    Vargas did it
    Mosley did it

And i dont think any less of them as fighters cause even though i think they help you train harder they wont make much of a difference on fight night if you're up against a better fighter.

I'd be extremely disappointed. You can call me a ******* or whatever, but Manny Pacquiao is a guy that inspires me to a certain degree. Him beating Miguel Cotto was one of the most memorable moments of 2009 for me. I was very disappointed when I found out Alex Rodriguez used steroids, but if I found our Manny uses - or has used in the past - I'd be even more disappointed. I still support A-Rod because he plays for my favorite team, but I don't think I'd support Pacquiao anymore if anything like that came to light.

It's hard 2 say. I would care because I'm against cheating but considering current testing methods don't detect everything, other people are probably doping too. Plus people like Roy Jones, Mosely etc have done it. It is wrong but if everyone else is doing it you can't blame someone for doing it too.

I'm partially with Blade on this one in that I think pretty much every athlete juices in some form or degree these days. It actually is a much more complicated business to test em and check em out than is traditionally made out.

For example, I was reading about a genetic predisposition that east Asian men have for (in very very basic terms) getting rid of testosterone in their urine.

Hispanic men had the least variants of these genes (out of the four groups tested; white Europeans, east Asians, black Africans and non-white Hispanics).

Therefore theoretically if they were all using synthetic testosterone basically it would show up most easily in Hispanics and least easily in east Asians (as they would dispel it in their urine). Apparently current testing does not cover this issue (strictly speaking, you'd have to analyse the genes, not simply the race of the athlete; but there is a definite proportionality).

Still though, if May doesn't get caught with anything and Pac does conducting the same tests, then it definately reflects very badly on Pac. Even with what I've said above.

I would be disappointed. Not surprised though, it's ****ing pro sports at the highest level for crying out loud.

Pac always looks bad in any hypothetical thread that he's been in.

To have seen him accomplish all he has, and then find out he tested positive would be the biggest dissapointment in sports as far as im concered.

Imagine that, a ******* is a Yankee fan, and an A-Rod fan at that. Are you a Colts or Patriots fan too? Lakers fan as well? Jump off the bandwagon dude.

Voted for the option that said there is no place for cheater in any sport.

The sad truth is that doping does not hurt a fighter at all if they are caught. Boxing is ****ed up in that respect.

But I do not respect any fighter who use PED. Toney and SSM are great fighter? No, **** off, they are cheats. end of.

    Extremely extremely dissapointed... Its cheating.

I didnt pick an option because i think a suspension and a big fine with an * next to the career is a decent punishment, i wouldnt want them gone forever. But like i said, extremely extremely dissapointed.

Exactly...real fight fans want to see great fights without the soap opera, end of story.
