Hypothetically, if Manny Pacquiao was to be found doping...how much would you care?

It would depend on what punishment he received as to how I would feel, if he got a 12 month+ ban then I wouldn't be too bothered, it would be hard for him to salvage his career or keep any sort of credibility at this stage of his career though.

I would be so dissapointed and just like other sports i would like to see dope user be banned for 2 years, and life on repeat...

We've seen a lot of known users in boxing and a couple 'under suspicion' but we don't see many beïng banned
Take Toney for instance... tested positive against Ruiz (for crying out loud!), and the win was changed to a ND and Toney still boxes on :huh
And the Mayweather case... uses a substance to numb his hands what is only allowed in Nevada (?????) and banned in all other states, because it gives an unfair advantage when hitting your opponent! Shouldn't there be a nationwide or even worldwide regulation for something as rediculous as this? So you can't cheat in say Calafornia but then we cheat in Nevada so no big deal... :patsch

And another thing... what's up with boxing not beïng up to par with the rest of the sports world... In Europe we even go beyond 'random blood testing' because it's been proven that even that can be circumvented. And some sports are even making use of a blood passport on which the first conviction is made without the athlete ever tested positive... No Olympic Winter Games for her, and probably and of career.

So there is a lot to do for boxing to get the cheaters out of there, but before someone is convicted he's innocent until proven guilty, so Manny still has my vote... I don't hope I ever have to chance that.

**** the cheaters. But, with the poor testing system, i guess that a lot of boxers are on something.

Everyone SHOULD care. This would be a huge blackeye when boxing has enough already.

IT would be a huge hit to boxing but it also would suck because he has been punishing opponents alot lately. I mean he has been handing out career ending beatings.
I hope he would just accept them and come clean.

I would expect a HUGE apology to Floyd Sr. by the boxing community..
and lawsuits from Hatton, GBP, Cotto etc..

    what irony it would be

It is too much a part of the game for it to completely cloud the guys legacy. I would just say, next fight after your suspension be clean.

The current programs give guys a choice between fame and fortune or nothing. What person in their right mind wouldn't go for an "edge"?

The FACT is that sports aren't serious about testing. You can't make a guy make that choice. Until they fix the testing structure I would laugh and talk tons of crap, but he should serve his suspension and get back at it... Like EVERYONE else did.

I say all the crap I say in jest I hope none of you guys take my ******* rips personally! :good

I don't give a ****. I say let them all do all the roids that they want to, it makes for better entertainment. The war on drugs is a useless and pointless waist of money. Your never gonna catch them all anyhow, and that ain't fair either. Wanna level playing field, let them all do what the **** they want as far as supplements. I also say decriminalize crack, pot, and all other recreational drugs. If people wanna abuse their bodies let them. This is America and adults should have the right to **** themselves up !!!!!!!!

I would care, but not all that much. It didn't really bother me all that much that Shane, Toney, and Vargas were caught doping. It's cheating so I don't condone it, but it's only about a 4 on my "give a **** meter" out of a possible 10. This is the kind of sport where athletes cheat all the time in various different ways so one more cheater doesn't really surprise me much.

It'd bother the **** out of me I'm a huge fan I'd feel let down, but in the end he would remain an atg...his use would go the way of rjj, mosely, vargas or maybe not I don't know. I don't think he is using, as there has been no evidence, not even anecdotally, but if, if, then, yes, I'd feel bamboozled.

Post after post you put on a display of just how ignorant you truly are. You don't think steroids will make a difference? What is the point of someone taking them, then? Absurd post, and a bad one. Not surprising, however.

As for the thread itself, I would simply be terribly disappointed. I hope Pacquiao does not cheat because I like him and love the sport. It would just be bad all around.

I am never shocked when any athlete , in any sport ; is on HGH /PED .
It seems as if the world of sports prefer it . These owners of these industries seem to allow it.

As it probably produces a better show for its audience. Which in turn , brings more money.

If your favorite footballer, Baseballer , Boxer , etc . aquires an injury sometime before a lucrative time of year ... He or she cannot perform at that standard that the fans demand...

The owner of that orgnanization ,the players agent /advisor/manager can easily request that they take ANYTHING to help them recover so that it brings in the money.
That seems to be in the realm of possiblitly.

NOW as fans . We would never have the liberty of knowing any of this if it were'nt for todays PRESS. We would all be blind to this, for the most part.

And none of these people are being severely punished for it. Because the sports themselves dont care , IMO .
