In fairness Trinidad was a naturally smaller guy and Pavlik was an overrated drunk but I see your point. Kovalev is much bigger than both those guys. Still Bernard thought he'd could beat Haye...

Both of those wins also came from a much younger Hopkins. Could the current Bernard school that Kelly?

#3 is what sets Hopkins apart from everyone Krusher has fought in the division this far. Hopkins rely on experience and his intellect to win fights. Your not going to come in the ring and do what you want to him just because you might be faster or stronger then him. Come fight night you'll see exactly what I mean.

Pavlik would have easily destroyed Bhop if he wasn't a sick binge drinker.
Kovalev is putting the black-out on the delusional alien. Bye bye Bernard.

So says the rabid Kovalev crowd. Lol. The guy Hopkins beat in his last fight is a carbon copy of Kovalev. Straight up-n-down with suspect defense. Hopkins has dominated better fighters than Kovalev...

Beterbiev looks pretty basic to me. I think Kovalev would exact sweet revenge if they fought as pros.

It'd certainly be an interesting fight - Kovalevs main advantage would be his mobility, but after seeing what Beterbiev did to Cloud on the inside I'd be worried for Sergei if Artur proved able to cut him off.

Nah. There were reports of his alcoholism prior to that. I'm struggling to dig up refs as some of the contemporary reports are no longer available but there's a search reference about Kell having been in rehab for alcohol (ab)use.

Though there's obviously a frustrating lack of solid information it' looks like his problems were there, at least to a degree, before he fought Hopkins.

The main disadvantage for Beterbiev would be cutting off the ring on Kovalev, I think if the fight happens Kovalev would be forced into the role of a counter puncher, and no matter how powerful Beterbiev's chin is, what happens when he runs into a full force counter from Sergey, especially since Kovalev KO's guys with glancing blows.:yikes

Alcohol or not, Hopkins displayed his talent in that fight, and Pavlik had no answer for it.

He got completely, utterly schooled. If he was sober, it would not have made much of a difference.
