I was considered unbeatable, won 2 division titles by flattening my
opponents. My sparring partner became a world famous trainer, but sadly
I met my tormentor who upset me and took my title. He just had my
number...Who am I ? And who was my stablemate who became famous ?

D, U nailed it. The bombastic Terrible Terry McGovern was such a feared
young sensation who Britains Peddlar Palmer in flattened in 1899 for
the Bantamweight title, when McGovern was 19 years old. In 1900 Terry
tko'd George Dixon for the featherweight title. As the FW champion McGovern kod Eddie Santry,Oscar Gardner. Frank Erne, the murderous
punching Aurelio Hererra, and at the age of but 21 was kod by the
large underdog young Corbett, who also kod Terry 2 years later in 1903.
Finishing off the great Terry McGovern who ended up later in an insane asylum on and off. McGovern died at the age of 38 in 1918, where is buried
at Holy Cross Cemetary in Bklyn, NY , where I saw his resting place years ago...His young stablemate was of course Charlie Goldman who had hundreds of pro bouts, and when he retired, trained Rocky Marciano, and the rest is history...:good
