I actually admire Pac for taking a stance and holding his ground on principle...

Invincible its idiots like you that bring the forum down. This is without doubt the dunbest quote I have ever read on this site "24 days isn't a concession, because that allows him ample time to juice-up". Let me just show you how much of an idiot you are Invincible...

Ok we all know about Manny's refusal to not agreeing to Olympic style drug testing. Manny has agreed to be tested for blood up until 24 days before the fight and immediately after the fight. He is willing to give urine all the way.

Let's think of the worst case scenario that Pacman was on drugs all this time. People that know about Steriods and EPO know what advantages they can give you. You can train harder, for longer. Right?. For the Mayweather fight, Pacquaio would not be able to take drugs because he could be tested an anytime the whole way to the lead up to the fight. Right up to 24 days. Anyone that'd ever trained for a fight knows training tends to slow down with about 10 days to go before the fight (taking drugs in these 10 days before the fight would be pointless, as they would offer no advantage), so that you are fit and rested. So what do people think Pacquaio is going to be doing for that 2 week window (between resting and blood testing stopping) before the fight? Popping as many drugs as he can get in, while in the meantime hoping he doesn't get caught!? I mean are people serious! What kind of advantage would Manny get by taking drugs for 2 weeks? Seriously like, think about it.

Never once has there been any suspicion about Manny before the Mayweathers opened their mouths. Now one in every two of you guys are saying yep, Manny won't take the test because he is on drugs. He won't take the test because he wants to be at his physical and mental peak before fight-time. He won't take the test because the Nevada State Commision or Boxing organisation are not asking him to take the tests. Floyd Mayweather is! Please read the below article carefully. He is quite specific on why he will not give blood to close to the fight. Why are people so cynical that they won't take a man for his word!?

    http://sports.yahoo.com/box/news?slu...thervspacquiao

The problem on this site and other boxing sites is the black and white attitude. Manny won't take the test = Manny is a juicer. Despite the fact there is no evidence WHATSOEVER, despite the fact he is a man of god, despite the fact he is trained by a world renowned trainer whose reputation is ruined if his star pupil is a cheater, despite the fact he has continually denied taking drugs (saying before the Clottley fight that he had no idea what a steriod even is!). I mean what do people think if there was Olympic style drug testing for every fight? Do they think Manny would just quit boxing!? Whoops might get caught Freddie better quit! I'm sure it would be a problem for Manny clearly, but he wouldn't have a choice but to comply, if this style of testing was the standard for every boxer. But right now its not. Its the Nevada State Commission that sets the rules for a fight. Not Floyd Mayweather and because Manny won't bow to Mayweathers demands that automatically makes him a juicer! DO ME A FAVOUR!

The fight probably won't happen. I personally think there is blame on both sides and I personally think neither fighter wants the fight as much as the fans do...Sadly there are too many igorant fans like invincible that don't know anything about boxing and their lack of intelligence brings the standard of debate on a great site down..

You are conflating two separate things.

Manny HAS addressed Mayweather's 'alleged irresponsibility' and harm done to his reputation: through his lawsuit.

That has NOTHING to do with Manny not agreeing to the testing, which, according to you, he thinks is 'GOOD' for the sport.

I simply don't understand this whole 'giving in to Mayweather's will' defense people use for Pac not agreeing to the testing.

I just don't see a scenario where if Pac agrees to random USADA style testing up to 5 days before the fight, and PASSES all the tests, that somehow that is a bad reflection on him.

That is either extreme ego or hubris talking.

    this is circular reasoning

i don't have to take proper testing because i'm not on roids, and since i'm not on roids, i don't have to take proper testing

Well if we'd be forced to pick only one race that give the utmost importance to dignity, honor and principles...it's easily the ASIAN race no doubt !! It just so happens that Pacquaio also feels the pressure to represent an entire country looking up to him to honor them and their mentality.

Well that's the stupidest principle to be standing up for; Losing $30M by refusing to pee in a cup to prove you aren't a cheating steroid head.
    Yeah, Brilliant move!

I admire Pacquiao for taking some sort of stance against the blood testing...and Mayweather. But Arum and Roach are the people who are making, and will continue to make Pacquiao look bad.
However, now that Mosley has gone through the testing, and it seems like Mayweather's testing is becoming more popular...I think even Pacquiao realises they will need negotiate and come to some sort of compromise when and if they sit down at the table. This bout will not happen without some sort of blood and urine testing up until a cut off date...and I think Pacquiao already knows this...and I think he realises it can save his image.

I don't wanna hear anyone say barry bonds was on steriods. Those accusations are baseless and false LOL.

It's the same situation with manny. Barry Bonds started doing the unthinkable and a majority believe that he did take steriods without any failed test. Manny is doing things that don't make since in peoples eyes. Having tough fights with lighter fighters and coming up and battering guys significantly bigger than him with ease. It doesn't make sense to some. I feel he really has gotten better and he was fast at the lower weights so he is lightning at 147. He makes his opponents reluctant to swing.

That being said it should be understandable to see why some might think pac is on steriods. Some of you might not have heard anything prior but I was hearing it from all my Rican friends before the cotto fight saying ariza this and ariza that. So the rumors were there before whether or not it was an ESB thing.

    Puh-lease!!!!

Pacquiao has dignity, honor, and principles? That's why he cheated on his wife and kids with a prostitute worker and was forced to pay the hooker an out of court settlement after getting her pregnant and not even acknowledging the child was his.

Perhaps his dignity and honor explains why, after his fight with Cotto, he took a "vacation" with a mistress having another affair - after pretending on HBO (post-fight) that he was planning to go back home to "spend time with his family".

Maybe his "principles" are similar to his best friend, Singson, who is one of the most corrupt politicians in the Philippines. A man who recently brutally beat his girlfriend.

Pacquiao was even rushed to the hospital a couple years ago after liver damage from "something" he was taking to stay up for several days without sleep.

You guys can pretend all you want he's scared of needles, but don't pretend he's ducking this drug test because of his "principles".
