I agree Roy Jones is not Old School....

    Roy Jones is Roy Jones..

Roy Jones did things that where not written in the text book, fighters like James Toney and Bernard Hopkins have a answer for 99.9% of the boxing moves and skills that have ever been displayed inside a boxing ring.. in the whole of history.

"Roy Jones was that 0.01% who they both had no technical answer for"

"Roy Jones was that 0.01% who they both had no Blue Print for"

"Roy Jones was Michael Jordan in boxing gloves, commited crimes inside the ring...should of been jailed for aleast 10 years"

There's not many "old school" champs who's first clear loss at 25 yrs old sends their career into a nose dive which takes them almost a full decade to partially recover from.

RJJ was on another level never mind old school. Was Whitaker old school? With all the atributes that RJJ had and still flickers some of those atributes, I don't understand all this old school term. Hopkins and Toney are indeed old school, but have paid the price to the Taylors, Jones, etc. RJJ was blessed with awe abilities. Actually, he is now using a much better defence. He will beat Joe. Just like I said Hopkins will beat Pavlik. Roy will shine come Nov. 8th.

whitaker was able to shine and hold his own against the best who were bigger and in their prime (oscar)

im not really going to debate this.... its too obvious. Roy NEEDS his godlike abilities to win fights, because at his core hes not as good a fighter as a hopkins or toney... his eye for boxing is just as good from the outside looking in, but he doesnt have the courage, will, or skill those 2 do, which is why i think they are better fighters at their core.

Head to head, Roys physical attributes will carry him to a decision victory like they have in the past... though i think if Hopkins fights the fight of his life, putting pressure and fighting like he did against pavlik (though its a totally differant fight when hes got roy in front of him who will surpass his speed and is more elusive then pav) but i think hopkins can overcome roy.

But at their core i think Hopkins is a better fighter.... meaning intangibles, skills, ect...

and yes i hope Roy does beat joe... i hope your right on that one ;)

We will wait and see. A fluke KO for RJJ would be nice or a decision. If Hopkins fights RJJ like he schooled Pavlik, it is going to be a very difficult fight for RJJ. Well, today's RJJ anyway. Yesterday's RJJ would beat Hopkins today. I know you know that RJJ beat Hopkins back in the day with a hurt hand. Oh, of course styles make fights so RJJ speed will make a huge difference on Hopkins output. Hopkins didn't have to worry about stamina in the Pavlik fight, but a RJJ fight will be so much tougher. We will see.
