i always wondered why floyd don't discuss boxing from a technical standpoint

I think its hard for someone with his style to be a boxing 'savant' as you put it.

His 'Style' is what makes it harder for him to instruct you how to fight. Unless you box like him, he more than likely cant teach you. Its easier for punchers, out-fighters, in-fighters to teach you how to box than it is for someone with a heavy defense style like Floyd.

In a instance when a normal boxer would toss jabs , he wouldn't..

Its probably easier to take boxing lessons from the Leonards,Alis and Hearns of the world than it is..than it is from the Mayweather Jrs., Jones Jrs , or Whittakers.

Doesn't mean he wont be a good coach in the future. We will see.

I wouldn't help people beat me if I was still in the game like him. I don't recall big names in boxing giving out 'telling' boxing lessons while they were working...

 

Ask him if his man has beat Floyd yet.

 

Duran, Whitaker, Robinson, Leonard, Hagler, etc...

IMO many many more.....but those 5 would be clearly higher in any skill comparison like this table below.....

Your list wasnt gathered in a very observant manner.
Range-Fighting? Most of Floyds attacks come at maximum range.
His style of in-fighting is different than most, but just as effective.
Floyd's stamina has never been a question.
Heart is a skill?? Floyds heart should be apparent in his work and training efforts.
Chin? Having a chin of stone isn't a skill, and you shouldn't be getting hit in it regardless. Floyd doesn't.
Upper-Body Movement. - Floyd's style does not require much upper body movement because of his defensive methods. Compensating hasn't let him loose yet.
Killer Instinct? - This is stupid. Because everything about Floyds style says he has a killer instinct...you cant win decisions not throwing and connecting..which leads us into...

Timing..Accuracy...Which are really 1 in the same in the ring... Who has better timing or accuracy than Floyd? No one. This shows in his thrown and landed %

Ring Generalship? - Who has bullied Floyd in the Ring? No one. With his fight record you shouldn't even place this on your list..

Speed? - Who questions Floyds speed?

Power ? - Again. Not a skill. He has beaten guys with more power than him.

Counter-Puncher ? " ................................ "

Footwork? This is a skill relative to each fighters style. Mayweathers footwork matches his style, it works and it wins.

Offensive Skills - Mayweathers defense is his offense.

Defense Skills - Mayweathers Defensive skills are the best in boxing today.

Punches of all types - The point of different types of punches is to pick the one that will connect at the different angles that a boxer finds himself in relative to his opponent. Mayweather connects..and wins..more than most boxers from the past. Look it up. W/E he is throwing it is connecting. A skill is only as good as its applied...

Opposition -- isn't a skill...
