I got to say fellas, I was watching the fight last night and for the first 5 rounds I was celebrating what Cotto was doing in the ring. To us in Puerto Rico this wasn't the Hopkins vs Trinidad since the first bell because we were watching our man teaching Margarito a lesson. My hat is off to all the Mexican and Margo's fan, he really did an amaizing job...

I couldn't believe how Cotto was hitting Margo all the time and Margo never slow down at any point. I even comented with my friends... "Is this guy on steroids tonight? I mean, I can't understand how someone can take 280 punches (most of them in the head) from a hard hitting boxer and just never slow down." The truth is that it was very frustrating to see Margo not even getting blood in his nose from all the punches that he was taking.

To be clear, I don't think that Margo was on steroinds, he is a legit boxer and deserves all the credit. That was just a frustrating drunk Puertorican trying to make sence of what we were all witnessing.

Anyway, what a fight guys, this was great for boxing and for fight fans. Let's see what happens with Margo and Cotto down the way from now on. I don't think that anyone has the balls to step in with Margo but Paul Williams, I mean, forget about DLH, he wants to go out in a high note, he is not going to fight Margo to lose.

    What do you guys think?

Margarito is an unusually hard guy, even by Mexican boxer standards he's a rough *******. He just cannot be dented.

I have been watching boxing for over 40 years and I am a Cotto fan now.
He fought far better and was much tougher than I expected and still lost. Much like Castillo in the first Castillo-Corrales fight, he lost with a gallant effort. Puerto Ricans can hang their heads high, that was a great fight.

Thnks man... At this day and age, a boxer that has over 30 fights and hasn't lost is a protected fighter... this is not the end... we shall see...

Clottey and Williams are both big fells and will give more problems to Margo. I still think margarito beats them both due to his workrate.... although if Williams steps it up....that would be very interesting....as Margo won't be able to bully Williams around the ring like he did with Cotto at the end

Gandul, nice job. I admire a guy who gives respect to the fighter who beats theirs.

It will be interesting to see how the goes with Clottey/Zab, and in the next year. I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully Cotto takes the path of Joe Louis after he was thrashed by Schmeling.

Man don't let your pride be hurt. Cotto is a brilliant fighter who fought a really good fight. It just wasn't his night.

I honestly don't think Williams wants to fight Margarito again and if I were Margarito, I wouldn't consider it.
I would try to draw Oscar into a battle, or Floyd, for the big money, and then maybe after that, Paul Williams.

don't worry cotto will be back, margarito's chin was suprisingly indestructible. I always knew he was a tough and solid chin fighter but after the fight i say that chin is made up of titanium!

It was hard to watch in the end. Cotto is a great guy. He should take some other fights because I don't think he could ever win a rematch. Watching Cotto fight his way till the end was amazing. He fought like a man. Bowing to the media before his exit. What a fighter
