First thing you do is ck for messages(text/email), ck all major internet boxing sites for news and results. Then writing emails, and other social media things to stay in touch. Look at possible opponents on youtube and whatever info you can find to evaluate opponents or future possible opponents.
For example I have a '40pdr who is undefeated in 16 fights, I look at all the guys fighting at that weight in the US and Mexico. I collect as much info as I can from results, write-ups, watch video's and keep a file so that if I have to fight somebody I have at least an idea of what I am getting into if no tape is available. Then I work the phones sometimes til 2 or 3am. There are no holidays fergetaboutit, it's 24/7, 365days. I also watch whatever fights that are on, usually I zero in on guys that weigh the same as my guys as possible future opponents.
Then I go to bed and start all over again, wives and girlfriends hate it, "Who are you talking too one of your boyfriends?" you get to hear that a lot lol.

Wow..Demps..very interesting your profession as manager..thats something id love to do!..(or trainer)..my question--.you think some of the good trainers in my area(California)..would accept help ..even if its for free? just to get learning experience and get foot in the door?..or do most trainers dont want to deal with that...seems to me they probably get asked that alot..i was thinking of calling them(F.Roach)..or maybe go in person..but id like your opinion before doing that..(dont want to feel s####d them turning their back on me before my first sentance!! Lol)..thnx:good

If you are near Freddie's gym, go by sit and watch. Don't be pushy, Freddie if he isn't busy will talk to you. Tell him that you want to learn. Catch him when he is not doing something. Remember the unwritten rule, shut your mouth and keep your eyes and ears open. If you hang out enough they will warm up to you. I would first hang out talk to the fighters, trainers and ask questions. Good luck

How do you find the fighters to evaluate? Knowledge that they are in your fighters division or matchmakers or a little bit of everything?

Since youve been in boxing for many years dempsey..in your opinion-is a fighter with knockout power,born..or..made?..ive been seeing old tapes of fighters.(.specially Marciano)
It comes so easy for many..eventhough most dont have the body that would make you think they have devastating power..also,,whats the best way to REALLY increase punching power youve come across?:good...grate site!

Another question demps...say you come across a kid at a gym that you KNOW he has the skills allready to start fighting professionally(so he can start building his record)..what would be the best move in yr opinion..try to get him to compete in the olympics first(if so,why)..or dont lose time and start him fighting professionally by choosing the right fighters for him.

Wow,who would of thought he owed $..maybe thats why he now seems to REALLY want to fight Mayweather..speaking of Mayweather,i dont understand why Mayweather didnt want to fight Paquiao(until now,i think its finally gona happen)...never saw the logic to it..since it would be mega mil. Fight!..why wouldnt Mayweather want to fight Paquiao?..ithink he shouldve took the fight years back..what happens if Paquiao losses again?.(or if Mayweather losses!).i think marketability would go down...how do you guys see it?..thnks for links scorpion.:good.
