    Dempsey..(IYO)..
What are the top mistakes that a boxing manager makes,or can make, that can end or severly damage his career?the biggest potential pitfall.
..#2...what is the biggest thing (IYO)..that can prevent a manager/trainer from fame and fortune ?..assuming hes got the skills to train fighters)

Guys contracts are binding there are ways around them, but when it gets to the stage of legal action going to court occurring in the Boxing business there is usually only one winner the lawyers.

Ricky Burns declared bankrupt £412 k debts after leaving his former promoter while under contract....many claims, counter claims and probable truths most of the information out there online.

He fights Omar Figueroa next in Texas, the best available purse currently available to him. Some of you well aware of Figueroa he is an action fighter with a high punch output though very open himself. It looks to be a hard night ahead for Burns imo.

Lets hope he has been more astute out of the ring with regards his 'bankruptcy' if you know what i mean!:hey

Of course there is a fight happening early May that is generating of course a fair bit of interest. The worldwide figures are astronomical for M v P.

The PPV price here in the UK £19.95 approx $30 dollars and I read you guys will be paying around $100 to watch it in the comfort of your own home? The fight will be on around 4-5 am UK time a massive factor in the pricing imo TBH.

PPV the holy grail for any fighter. The MGM grand Las Vegas the venue and reading online many asking why wasn't it turned into a massive outdoor event capacity wise?Letting of course the average fan a chance at attending the 'fight for the fans'.

Money talks hence Vegas the venue the high rollers in town, supply and demand the order of the day.Boxing in the spotlight a 'fight for the fans' indeed!

This isn't Froch-Groves 80k plus or JCC-Haugen for those of us that remember 136 k Mexicans going mental in the national stadium. The facts being our side it was domestic interest,JCC a Mexican legend...supply and demand.

Money talks all languages and this fight will certainly do that less than 1% of fighters will get to PPV level regardless of how you feel about it.

I don't bet on fights never have never will, I am superstitious don't want to jinx my guy. The fighters I have and had never knew one who bet on themselves. I am not saying it doesn't happen but I haven't heard it myself.

Demps, here in California its $200 fee for trainers license..i called the CA..athletic comm..they sent me to their Web site.
..in their Web site theyre asking for 5 yrs experience in boxing!..
..is it the same in Texas?..if so,how the hck do you show verification of experience?
..it seems way to much experience theyre asking.(for someone trying to break in)..ive been around boxing for many years..but how do i verify that? ..i called them but always on hold,or send me to the Web site..thankx

Ask the trainers, they should know and they might give you helpful tips.
IDK where you are at but if you really want to be a trainer talk to a trainer you might like and become useful, get them water, hold the towel whatever he might need, be there but don't be pushy. Keep your eyes, ears and mind open. Learn from the best around you.

    Got it....im in Bakersfield CA..
..so you as a manager, how many fighters would you say is the right amount of fighters to have and still manage them correctly?..or is it the more, the better..
    ..also
..when is another of your fighters gonna fight?..(what chanell)..
..another question demps...do you think it would be a good decision me moving to L.A (2 hr drive) in order to work along side the good trainers there?.(im single-no family responsabilities..jeje..yet!)..or helping a local trainer would be good enough for now?..apreciate yr advise.

Yeah it's usually 10% until the huge purses then its a flat fee or whatever can be negotiated.
Sometimes the whole corner is paid with the 10%. For example, head coach 3%, asst 3%, S&C 3% and cutman 1%.
