I want to comment on a recent fight that ended tragically. Since I look at boxing through a managers POV, what I saw was a bad situation turned worst
The kid had an inexperienced corner which should have called the fouls their fighter was taken in no uncertained terms. The kid was penalized 2 pts for a low blow, when the opponent was only penalized one pt for constantly hitting the kid behind the head. One was so bad that there was no way the ref could have ignored it, for that he was penalized one pt. He really dusted the kid with a flush right hand behind the head. For me that was the punch that really did the damage. Now I ask you which is worst a low blow or a shot behind the head? Had the kid had a better and experienced corner, they would have screamed bloody murder, but they never made it an issue. Now the kids career might be over, it's a shame. The kid I believe doesn't have an experience manager or team, take heed guys, look for experienced people to work with you.

    What fight is that demps?...
..IMO its more dangerous to take a blow on back of head...cos..the head(brain)...is where you can have serious consequences..even after the fighter is retired..
..id like to see the fight..is it on youtube?

Being involved in an incident as I was you get a different perspective on things. The Chavez - Johnson fight and in a round about way, the Pintor- Owens fite. All as in the Pitchard Colon, fite. The corner, could've and should've IMO, done more to prevent what happened.

Guys one of my fighters is fighting Friday on TRUTV(Nov 20th). He is fighting in the televised semi-final. This fight is a dangerous one for my guy, cos he is fighting an undefeated puncher, with a great trainer. This fight is gonna be the fight everybody that knows considers it the real main event. This is a throw the dice fight, the winner will go on to bigger and better things, the loser who knows, it depends on the fight the loser makes.
Why take such a dangerous fight? Cos, looking at everything we feel we have a shot to win. The two are relatively even in experience, my guy has good pop in both hands and it is a chance to move ahead if he wins. In my guys last fight he fought one of the best prospects out of Puerto Rico, on HBO, while he lost a dec, he made a hit with the fan's and fight people. So while it is a dangerous fight it is one we can win. You have to take chances and this is an opportunity if he wins his standing will change same as his opponent.

Thank you. My guy has big cojones and is totally confident, and is ready for war. Like I tell him, he is the warrior and I am the worrier. I tend to worry about everything but I can't show it.

...that -IS- gona be the fight to watch-
It is gona be a dificult fight for you guys--Rodriguez is very well schooled fighter for his age..great power also
.and what i liked mostly-he covers himself all the time..very carefull fighter.
But i think your fighter has a good chance ..cos he also has great power!.and skill...
The way i see it-this fight is gona go to WHOEVER COVERS HIMSELF BETTER in this particular fight. (cos theres gona be bombs back and forth).
.imo...your guy will do great-if- he keeps his hands up..is patient..and doesnt get sloppy..
He definetly has a good chance to win.
..i dont think this fight will pass the 8 round..
    Good luck to you guys!!

    ..Canelo vs Cotto coming up..
Who would you put your $ on?
I think Cotto feels ready to retire..
Hes got the $ (another awesome paycheck doesnt hurt though!)..his chmp.belts.fame .health.
-they are both awesome skillful fighters..but i think Canelo is alot hungrier and still has alot to prove
.Also Cotto has gone through alot of dificult wars..thats gotta take a toll..
    I think TKO-around 6th rnd.( Canelo wins)..bloody fight-but i think canelo wins this one.

P, you hit it right on the head, neither guy can get sloppy, the winner goes on to bigger and better opportunities. At the media event yesterday, the opponent, said, I have a great manager and trainer and train with great fighters in a great gym. That's all well and good, but there will be only three guys in the ring, the ref and the fighters.

I think Canelo has youth on his side, and in a war of attrition that has value.

Yup..once in the ring-its up to skill/Experience and heart...
Rodriguez uppercut might be the deciding factor..-IF- your guy gets careless .(hope he doesnt!)
I will be watching the fight-should be a good one...GREAT LUCK TONIGHT!

As P, said about getting careless my guy got more than careless. First he came in 2.6 pds over, then he got caught. What did Tyson say, "Everybody has a plan, til they get hit", my guy got hit. I have to say this, the opponent last nite, was the better man. So there are no excuses.
    Like they say, "that's boxing".

..yea-its too bad he got caught so early in the fight..
I wouldve liked to see him test Rodriguez into the later rounds--
    ..but yes-thats boxing
..is it true he got fined $10k for not making weight?..
..why didnt he (or his trainers) make sure - way..before the fight there werent gona be any weight issues?. Not blaming..just curious..
Kinda makes me think he didnt take this fight seriously?
    .Thnx
