I like his style. He fights like I try to train my fighters to fight. I like his straight punches and aggressive style. Very exciting to watch.

Not saying he is not beatable or does not have room for improvement. Just saying I like his style and his potential for greatness.

Agreed, but I think he would beat a lot of guys. I think he's the best LHW prospect by a long shot.

I've liked Shumenov from the beginning, although admittedly the Campillo fight left a bad taste in my mouth. I have to respect a guy who goes out there and fights a 70 fight veteran in his third pro fight, a guy who's 26-2 in his 5th pro fight and a former titlist in his 6th pro fight. The downside is that because he didn't have a long development period, he's still learning on the job. But he showed a lot of improvement between the Campillo fight and this one (his footwork was a lot better, and he looked a lot more natural with his punches), and the guy just must work like crazy. He has incredible conditioning, especially when you consider he went pro only about 2 years ago.

I'd have serious doubts about that, Cleverly has looked impressive at the level he's fought at but I have the feeling things may get very tricky for him as he moves up in class. Hopefully his next fight will tell us more, and of course now that he's finished his degree he can fully dedicate himself to boxing......so we might see big improvements.

But if it was Shumenov fighting Cleverly on September 18th I'd be backing him heavily.

You see 'greatness', I see the reason Kelly considered skipping 168.

I was there in attendance and Shumenov threw hard punches until the end. Very impressive stamina.

You hit the nail right on the head. He is a LHW prospect so why does he have a belt again? I knew Campillo made a mistake of giving him a rematch. I told myself that Campillo was stupid for giving him a rematch due to Shemenov's people would find a way to get the belt unless Campillo stopped him. The rightful thing to due was to return the favor to Campillo, but they jetted. Who cares if the guy Shemonov just beat stopped Campillo in the past.

that could be lazy thinking, because for all cleverly improvement, he's been stopping outgunned africans for the commonwealth title, and guys that don't know how to block or slip a punch, mcintosh and brancalion.

cleverly had a controversial win of his own, a while back.

murat is a good fight for cleverly, because murat beat campillo (who really beat shumenov) and no doubt it'll get him his vacant WBO title shot (all cleverly's titles have been vacant ones). BUT, last night shumenov outclassed a guy who KO'd campillo, so it's not like cleverly is going to be ahead of shumenov.

have you seen the fight? Campillo schooled Murat who somehow managed to get a joke of a decision in his back yard. ridiculous Murat won two at most three rounds.
