Yes...a prime Vitali would have destroyed Peter. But does anyone really know what Vitali has left? It's been a long time since Vitali even survived training camp.
That is odd considering Manny Stewart did it tonight at least a dozen times. Manny was damned impressed with Peter tonight.
Good point. Normally, I'd pick Vitali easily. However, considering his recent history (and age) it's anything but certain. Samuel Peter isn't very good, but I'm not sure Vitali has much left in the tank.
I think Manny was talking Peter up so much because he sees an opportunity to make a lot of money and get another belt off of what would be an easy fight for Wlad. I bet as Manny was watching the fight he was just seeing all the openings Oleg couldn't take but Wlad would.
Emanuel Steward wants Vlad to fight Peter ASAP! He can't wait and neither can Vlad, but if Vitali wants to fight Peter, he will get the shot and knock Peter out. Steward will make a lot of money off a Vlad Vs. Peter fight, he will promote this fight all he can. It is all up to Vitali though as to whether he fights Peter, he can force that fight, Vlad can't force a fight with Peter because of Don King's WBC. However, if Vitali decides not to fight Peter, easy fight for him, then Vlad will be ever so happy to fight Peter ASAP!!!!!!! Man, Peter looked terrible tonight, and Oleg showed his age, but, in slow motion, he was able to hurt Peter anyway. Peter was sucking wind early. Man, I can wait for a Klitschko to get Peter into the ring!!!!!!! Peter is not in the same class as Vitali or Vlad. Peter landed a lot of his usual punches behind the head. Notice that HBO edited out some of them in the last round after mentioning them live. HBO tried to corner Peter about fighting Vlad, but Peter would not commit. Don King would not commit. They need to stop trash talking and sign on the dotted line. I can't wait for this fight to happen, but I won't hold my breath. Vitali and Vlad want this fight very badly. It is up to Vitali do decide as he can force a fight with Peter because of the WBC rules that they themselves made. Vlad can't force a fight with Peter but will fight him, depends of Vitali's decision and if Don King and Peter signs. There is a world of difference between Klitschkos and Peter, no contest.
In the ring, Sam Peter is nothing like his countryman Ike Ibeabuchi. If Ibeabuchi had not been such a maniac outside the ring, he might have been the world's dominant heavyweight dating these past six years. Sorry Sam...you are not going to rule the roost in Ike's absence.
Sam did look pretty bad but did anybody else notice he was rolling punches every now and then? and he also was ducking and weaving away from shots. His defense got a bit better, but he did look slow and pudgy as hell. He needs to get his weight down if he's going to take on Wladimir again.
Can it, Flatearther, we all remember you talking about how he'd change his style and beat Wlad the second time around!
