To be clear, I rank Pacquiao higher than any Filipino fighter of all time based on his accomplishments, and a fight with Elorde would've been a very good one at 130, though I'd have favored Flash. More well rounded boxer-puncher at the weight IMO.

I also think a guy like Rolando Navarette would be a very stern test for Pac at 130, as he was a very good technician with even better southpaw punching power.

for all we know Pac could lose his next 5 fights. Judge him when his career is done.

however if he were to retire today, his greatness is undeniable

The problem with all of you guys is that you don;t ahve any connection with History...even today, you ask the sport writers of the Filipne Islands and I assure you that Elorde and Villa will be named before Manny, as loved as he is in the PI'S todays..end of story...

I suggest all of you study the record and the opposition of Pancho and Elorde before critizing my selections.....

As of BladeRunner, it is clear your input on this thread are simply spamming..no beleivable aportation from your end....

The TV era been kind to Manny, his style and his accopmplishments speaks for itself, but so does Flash and Pancho, add to that Luis Espinosa and Penalosa, it shows some great boxing traditions in the PI's....

Pac has acomplished more than Elorde and Villa theres not much more to be said, but if you want to rank the other two ahead of him i have no problem with it.

its better than having Foreman in the top 10 ATG.

    :lol::lol::lol:.

Id say PAC but Villa was without a doubt the greatest had he not died.

People are shortchanging Elorde who held the SFW title for 7 straight years.

Navarette, he was talented but he was mentally unstable, hes in jail now I think

First of all...let move on from Foreman, since it is your fantasy...second of all Elorde accomplishment are clear in the history of the Filipino boxing history, third, Pancho Villa was and will always will be the first ...like Sixto Escobar was for PR boxing history...he started the tradition...

Now if you would really tallk boxing and skill lets go ahead and talk about ath since as much as Many has improved as an all around boxer, its his punching power that still carry him thru...

That said, Elorde v. PAcquiao at 130 would be a very intersting match not much different that El Terrible v. Pacquiao I, with Elorde playing the El Terrible part, wikth more shift and movement, and ther esult would ahve been the same , Elorde by UD...or SD...

Pacho Villa had enough power to stand with Manny on any day toe to toe at flyweight..at over 100 fights..never KO...or down

So you can hand him a the king crown, I am not so quick to draW...you have to look deeper than just liking the guy...

and BladeRunner that is your problem, you talk a lot but when it comes down to it..youa re just that..all talk....we have seen that over and over again with you.....accountability or lack of it....so if I was you...I put upm or shut up ..with real data ..real analysis other than..."...you ahve Foreman top ten ATG..." so get substance or shut up....:hi:

I cannot make an esteemed opinion based on the fact that I have never seen Elorde or Villa fight.

youre talking out of your ass like always all you do is guessing.
youre making it sound like Elorde was some kind of masterfull boxer like Willie Pep. Elorde was relatively easy to hit and he dint hit as hard as Pac he also wasnt as fast as Pac altough he had good speed too .
also he was an incosistent performer great one day and average in the other ,he would give Pac some problems but in the end Pacs superior strenght and punching power would make the diference and would lead to a late stoppage or a clear decision.

as for Villa he died too young and didnt acomplish as much as Pac,his best win is over Jimmy Wilde who hadnt fought in two years.
saying Villa would beat Pac at flyweight is just stupid,Pac wasnt anywhere near his prime at that weight.

in the end when we talk about ranking fighters it comes down to acomplishments and Pac has acomplished more than those two.

is that too dificult for you???????????????

wait!!! yes it is im talking to a guy that doesnt have Roy Jones in top 100 ATG :rofl:rofl:rofl

In fairness, Ortiz was greater than anyone Pacquiao has faced.

But I think Pacquiao is probably the greatest asian fighter. :good

i would really have no complaints if the 3 are intechanged since the three fighters basically fought 30 years between each other. we live in the present that is why pac is getting most of the attention and the accolade but accomplishment wise, pac would seem to be the best as of now.

pancho villa showed the path for future filipino fighters. elorde was truly impressive given the fact that he ruled for 7 years.

so for me it will be

    1. pac
    2. elorde
    3. villa
    4. penalosa. never been knocked out. best defense and technical skills.
    5. navarete. similar to tyson case.
