This could look like Juan Manuel Lopez Vs. Ponce. Gamboa doesn't take the risks JuanMa does. So it will take a while for the knockout. Round 3-5 I'm thinking. But, Ponce could pull the upset. And push to the win. He put up a fight with Broner and has many other good wins on his resume. But still, Gamboa is a knockout artist capable of beating Ponce. How do you see the fight going. Gamboa by ko. Since Yuri, at times, leaves himself open and PDL has genuine ko power, you could argue he has a chance. I just can't see it though. Gamboa is too quick and too good - a different level of fighter. He probably gets him out of there in the mid-rounds.
I was thinking 3-5 rounds. Give Ponce a chance though. He is one of the best opponents for Gamboa in this day and age.
I'm still hoping to see Gamboa-John, as unlikely as it seems. Jhonny Gonzalez would be a really fun fight while it lasts. PDL is a legit opponent but I think it's going to take someone special to beat Gamboa, who I think beats anyone under 135.
