I am amazed out how Golovkin can be such a force at 36 years old

If Spike O'Sullivan, BJS, lemiss, curtis stevens, Jacobs or charlo had stopped vanes in the exact same manor nobody would be raving about how it was an impressive win, everybody would be saying it was a 154lber coming of a 2 year lay off. I rate GGG highly but so many people over exaggerate his wins over low level opposition.

Has it really been that long already? I still remember you coming here as if it were yesterday. Now it turns out it's 6 months already!!

Time flies my friend, time flies.

Golovkin is kind of like Foreman in that he's a very methodical fighter. They deliver their power in a "slower" non-explosive way. The ones that rely on explosive bursts fade faster.

Bro you Golovkin fans are hilarious. I’ve never seen a guy asked does he think he has his power back during a post fight interview. Then we have guys like you thinking this man is an ATG. Even you bringing up belts. Who did he beat to get those belts? If you think this guy is worthy, by all means. When reality sets in, don’t cry like a *****. All I ask. The bar is set very low and boxing is degrading over this man.

I prefer shutting out Canelo as a 36 year old fighter jumping several weight classes, but that’s just me.

I sort of agree but I'm not so sure on the first point - I remember Lemiuex got a lot of hype after brutally stopping Stevens. Charlo got plenty of hype after stopping injured Heiland and Centeno Jr. It's just that the OP has started numerous ostensibly pro-Golovkin threads while most of his fans aren't too bothered about the Vanes win. We all knew GGG had great power and that power is something that stays with a fighter.

My personal view is that casuals will always overrate power ... they don't realize that a fighter needs a lot more than that to be elite - at the very top level in anything below LHW knock-outs are far from normal.

Power is the last thing to go on any aging fighter. GGG doesnt rely on handspeed, reflexes or insane workrate to win fights. He has great timing, great accuracy, expert footwork, subtle feints and a jackhammer jab. A repertoire like that ages very, very well.

He'll be pasting fuuckers for the next two years. After that we'll have to reassess.

Nevertheless, a dominant 36yr old middleweight champion is a sight to behold and happens once or twice in a generation.

Boxing is degrading/declining because of cheats, not pure specimens like GGG, fight anyone past prime without no cherry picking swerve GGG. To tell you the truth though, I don't think boxings degrading/declining, its just some people get shook when they aint got what they want anymore. If anything, America's elite'ism has lost the grip it used to have, these Eastern Euro's have got you's petrified

It's funny as I find the 'GGG would have murdered Hagler' brigade very annoying but you Golovkin haters are something else. There is literally nothing the man could do that would impress you or you wouldn't criticise or try to undermine.

It's insane - especially as many of you suck the nuts of anyone else in or around his division despite their obvious shortcomings or unscrupulous behaviour.

This is fair. Vanes isn't a great win but it's not totally worthless either. I genuinely think some people on here wouldn't give him credit if he blasted out Joshua the way the hate the man though.

They hate on 1 guy GGG who in his prime form destroys and MW in the world currently fighting. But they love all the guys he has or would destroy.

Agreed. I think GGG is an excellent fighter, not going to go into stupid ATG hyperbole or historical comparisons, but he's enjoyable to watch and hits like a sledgehammer. His detractors, however, seem to be on a different level of delusion, and I'm not even sure why, past the Canelo fan base wanting to drag him down.
