That's how Mayweather calls people out, he whispers.

It'll be a decent win for Floyd and it means he's serious about taking on Pacquiao by fighting Ortiz as his tune-up

And it doesn't mean much. Negotiations do. Pryor used to basically stalk Leonard and then balked at the contract because he wanted more money.

Yeah, they help build a bit of public interest, but all in all they don't really mean that much.

I picked Berto by KO in the 6th round but I was happy Ortiz got up and went on to win. I am a fan of Rios the boxer but I was not so much a fan of Rios the man in the past. Brandon does not like or trust white people too much. Thus he was not all that fond or trusting of me. I trained next to his father for two years. His dad Manuel and I got along very well considering he spoke very little english and I spoke no spainish. I really do not know what Brandon thinks of me but I am friends with his brother Tony and his dad Manuel and I think Brandon has begun to mature since he married his wife Vickie. I know several of the Rios family members here and they are good people. As I have said I don't know Victor well enough to like or dislike him as a person. I do know several people that do know Victor and they all say his is a phoney and a liar. I like Ortiz as a fighter and his fight with Berto was amazing.

The tune-up will take place in July and he'll fight Pac in November
I have to always restate this :patsch
    There is 2 scenarios
    A. Floyd takes a tune-up in July and fights Pacquiao in November
    B. Floyd waits and fights Pac in November

    Which one would you take?

I have a tough time seeing GBP putting Ortiz in there with Floyd.

Maybe it'll be at like 149 or something, a non-title bout. At least that'll help Ortiz somewhat if he loses, which appears likely. He'll still have that selling point as the WBC Welterweight champion.

I don't think Floyd cares that much about belts nowadays, especially winning one he already has.

it's ok to talk about a tune up fight if you are 100% sure of floyd fighting pac after.

I'm pretty sure. Now trust me, I would not support this fight at all if he didn't fight Pac afterward. I'd be very pissed :fire

Do you still remember when Floyd announced his July 2009 "tune up" against JMM in the morning of PAC vs. Hatton May 2, 2009 fight?

Floyd doesn't need tune ups (as what *****s claimed) so he better fight PAC next. No more tune up BS.

Didn't happen or else it would be in headlines somewhere. I think Mayweather was there hoping to see Berto win and then possibly challenge Andre. Ortiz upset the applecart by beating Barto.
