Listen, I supported a Margarito win in this fight going in, and I will say this Cotto did not quit, he knew he was going to take further punishment and probably get hurt the mans family was ring side witnessing this beating he was taking, the man made the right choice for his career and for his family and for his health, he earned his pay check, he made the choice to live to fight another day and after seeing what has happend to Oscar Diaz and looking at the punishment he was taking, I think its right to say that Cotto didnt quit, he fought his heart out and gave all he had to me he has more respect in doing as much as he did than many fighters who refused to fight Tony.
Cotto did not quit, I disagree with ANYONE that even hints at that. He was just hurt, simple as that.

:| :| :| :| :| :| :| :| :| :| :| :| :| :| :| :| :| :| :| :| This a boxing forum, not a support group for Cotto groupies... Everyone you named has one thing in common, they have nothing to do with it. We are not debating when the other fighters may have quit. In fact you have previously claimed that there is no way we can know what the fighters are going through. Evidently that only applies to the ones not named Cotto, because you have no problem branding others as quitters. ...your idiocy revealed...step by step... Actually, "exact" kind of kills you there...being asleep is a state of unconsciousness, while no longer throwing punches is a state of inactivity. Oh, we've got a smart guy...Yes, if you are sleeping in the ring it is ruled a KOatsch ...if you stop throwing punches the ref may wave it off and rule it a TKO...hardly the EXACT same thing, but they both can be ruled forms of an official KO. What is your point, where are you going with this...??? Who are you imagining that you are arguing with right here...???...Is there someone telling you that those instances are not forms of a KO, or are you just this emotional all of the time...??? What Duran shitting his pants, and Tyson eating dinner off of the side of Holyfield's head has to do with this discussion I don't know. Let's stay on topic, huh...???...for the sake of debate, those guys quit...OK. So what...??? Well he certainly doesn't fall into the Tyson category, and again who are you trying to argue with...???...the points you make prove nothing. Duran was an ATG, perhaps you should try to draw a comparison to Duran, because he quit and was forgiven. There's a four letter word for that, it's QUIT...lack of similarities between Cotto quitting, and the circumstances in which other fighters you arbitrarily name, may have quit...can in no way whatsoever, make Cotto's "quit" turn into a "went out fighting." Like this is the first time a fighter has quit...and all of the Cotto Queens need to confer to invent some new terminology, that's not as bad as quit...and to seek banning those who insult a fighter...we got some extra feminine posters hanging out with the boys now...:smooch ...and this one was so stupid, I had to quote it twice... Guess what...??? That is his opponent's goal in the sport of boxing...you want to beat your opponent so bad, and so convincingly that he is unable to continue, or in the event that your opponent does not break down...to dominate him in such a fashion as to get the nod from the judges. ...You did not just use that example...:nut You are reaching now, reaching hard. Zab took a knee in the 9th round, but he got up and he continued fighting...and was stopped in the 11th...he got back up and fought. That fight did not end with Zab on his knee. Of course Zab didn't quit in that fight. Do you think this site is filled with casual boxing fans...???...I don't know why you would even attempt such an example to make your losing case. :| There goes your emotionis again...I've been called worse, but yes...I get it. As you've demonstrated, you clearly are the one with no understanding, and I am begining to pity you. He is a good fighter...perhaps the best of the 10 rounders in his division...:yep Call it whatever you want, but the only point you remotely made, was something nobody was arguing with...about KOs. It was all :| ...what you call logic has been disproved, and will continue to be...as you are on the losing side of the issue, and no amount of :| can change that.
Wow...another post with no boxing. What's funny is that I can get under your skin so much, just by telling the truth about boxing...then you talk about me way more than your precious Cotto. Look how I respond with boxing information and discussion. Will you learn to do the same...or will you continue to cry about people not loving your fighter as much as you do. Cotto is a really good 10 round fighter man, I have no ill will toward him. Yes, KNIGHT got KOd by the barber...but isn't boxing more interesting than that...???
Instead of looking for my posts, why don't you go watch the fight again. You can tell me about the part where Cotto got up off of his knee and went after Margorito, because afterall...he didn't quit. Must be on that tape somewhere...:huh
This response took how long to put together an hour and a half, get back to work you ****!!! I am not wasting my time with you anymore, someone whose only objective is to offend and is to stuburn to hear someone elses point of view. Keep spining those postings to fit your need man!!! People can still read the unedited posting and follow the simple logic it lays out.
Guys guys... The rivalry will always be there, even at the time were our children grow. Being disrespectful it depends who says it and who is intended to. Anyway... To me Cotto didn't quit and actually in my eyes, both fighters gain much respect despite the outcome... so, that's it... let's wait for the next chapter between PR vs MEX.
Cotto could quit. He could continue to fight but chose for his corner to bail him out than continue on and try to fight back. He quit. Its funny you all want to say he went out like a warrior but warrirors don't quit. Corralles didn't quit when Castillo was on his ass the first fight, he was a warrior. Malinaggi didn't quit after Cotto broke his face. Zab didn't quit after the funky judah or after the low blows and body work from Cotto. Cotto's heart now has question marks around it, I don't care what you guys say, we know he has problems fighting until the end. I bet you Tito wouldn't have quit.
