I am convinced... Tito (2000 version) would have killed Floyd

I like how you choose to select a 27yr old Tito vs a 35yr old Mayweather at a weight that Tito would be more comfortable at then Mayweather would be.

What other handicaps should Tito get in this fantasy fight.

 

If Floyd was in with Tito he wouldn't have fought this gameplan.. Floyd's adaptability is what makes him immortal in the ring..

 

Floyd wasn't 100% against Cotto, be it because of illness/injury or just age. A fairer matchup would be him vs Tito at 147 both at their peak. Extremely dangerous fight but I'd pick Floyd.

 

Tito wouldn't land the left all night and would get thoroughly outboxed. Floyd would not be dumb enough to bang with him. Corrales part 2, just not as brutal.

 

So you pick the BEST nights Tito had and one of the toughest nights an older Floyd had to come to a conclusion?

While Tito has the harder single shot, I think Cotto is the overall more complete fighter who at this stage (compared to a 140lb Cotto) gives Mayweather a competitive fight because of his boxing ability, strength and patience.

I think any version of Mayweather makes Tito looked confused as he usually has when he's outboxed (DLH & Hopkins). Don't get me wrong, I like Tito and think he's great, but vs Mayweather he would simply be outboxed for 12 rounds.

Tito is a great fighter, but dang he is one stationary guy when he sets to throw hard - Winky Wright said "all I did was watch his feet. When he planted, i moved'. I know that's an old Tito, but he had that weakness at least from the Oscar fight. Floyd would be able to see that too.

Tito is an ALL TIME GREAT 2 dimensional fighter with good defense, accuracy, and speed, but he is really 2 dimensional with his plodding footwork, and Floyd for sure could capitalize on that, Tito needs the one punch knock out.

Delahoya, Hopkins and wright made Trinidad look like a fool. Floyd in all likelihood could do the same.
