The amount of disrespect Bivol faced yesterday night was disgusting. From no national anthem to the simple ring walk and finally culminating in the half-assed ring announcement, it was great to see Bivol beat down the red-headed midget and the promotional team. Everything was tipped in favor of Clenelo and Bivol shoved it up all up in their stinky behinds. Great to see and satisfaction was off the charts.
ya it was a great night of boxing. still disgusted about the scorecards but at least Bivol got the W. BOXING IS BACK BABY!!!
Bivol and beterbive same devision both Champs can't seem to find each other i bet bivol wold rather reachmatch canelo than fight anyone same with Benavides same with G Saunders there was only one person people want to fight
I don’t remember Plant or Saunders or Smith fighting each other. I don’t recall it being a qualifier to get a Canelo fight either except when it comes to certain fighters. You can’t crow about being the face of boxing, boxings king, boxing’s cash cow and expect people to not want to fight you. Especially as you hop around divisions like double Dutch jump rope. King of the hill will always be a target. It’s always been that way.
You wanted the Russian national anthem played while they are blowing away men women and children? Besides that Bivol has been treated with respect everywhere he went.
There’s always a level of disrespect when one fighter is the clear A-side. However, you’re way off base with the national anthem remark. For me it was the ring walk etc, along with the general conversation of who Canelo would be fighting next, after his victory. Other sports commentators from other platforms calling it a cherrypick was particularly embarrassing.
Seriously, do you honestly believe it was simply disrespect to not broadcast that particular national anthem around the world? It has far greater ramifications than simply boxing. And it would be a far greater showing of disrespect to the free world if it were played. Perhaps you should stick to boxing. Perhaps we both should.
We all understand why it wasn't, but it still felt wrong not to play it. Politics and world affairs should have no business interferening with sport. But the world we live in is very politically correct and whether we like it or not we have to live with it.
