:thinkNah not quite, better chin maybe, but he definitely doesn't hit harder. Murray is vastly overrated, he was barely capable of getting a draw against Sturm, which I'm not sure he actually deserved, and lost to a faded shell of Martinez, and he did lose, like 8 or 9 rounds, but he had 2 big rounds. And he's looked pretty shtty in his last few matches, whereas Lemieux has looked damn good over slightly better opposition. I'm not fighting with you lep, I just to don't value Murray very much.
Lemieux is too green at this point and could make good money for quite some time if he takes good fighters for at least a year or two before taking GGG. Lemieux is 25 and just steped up (for good this time).
Martinez and Sturm werent nearly as faded in those bouts as they have been in their more recent bouts.
Not even close really. Let DL have a couple more headline bouts first, so he can build himself up.. and yes, also get more experience. He should fight a guy a level up from Rosado next, not go straight for GGG. I think it might be possible that DL can build a resume , maybe even pretty quickly since he is apparently with GBP now and HBO obviously likes his style. The fight will happen, but people should have a little patience and let DL build himself up a bit more in and out of the ring first.
Quillan Taylor Jacobs Chavez jr Stevens Ndam Rubio 2 Golovkin Canelo Lara Kirkland Each one of those fights would be good, exciting matchups and most would be meaningful to the division as well. Will be a shame if not one of those get made.
I concur. Personally, and keeping realistic business realities in mind I would like DL to face HNN next , the winner facing the Korobov-Lee winner and the winner then facing GGG with WBO belt. Then we might actually have a real fight on our hands. Though DL punching Quillin from pillar to post would be entertaining, I dont see Haymon putting Quillin in with anyone more dangerous than Taylor unless he puts him and Jacobs in together to determine his NYC A-side.
