Whilst our views on Calzaghe differ, I do agree with this. Luckily, I have a decent living without getting punched in the head for it, but I have full respect for those who do. :good

Ha ha fair enough. When I say on top, I mean at the top of his game and as #1 in his division, rather than staying around to eventually get beaten up by someone who would not hold a candle to him in his prime.

 

Jeff whats the controversy ?? Calzaghe is over-rated by guys in this country simply because hes a British national, if Calzaghe was an american everyone in this country would totally crucify him. Its to be expected, most casual boxing fans in this country are basically football fans who spout off about boxing as if they know anything ..

Calzaghe wouldnt have a hope in hell of beating a 90s Roy Jones Jr, in the same way as Ricky Hatton would never have a hope in hell of beating Floyd Mayweather .. We are talking about different leagues here and just because you look good beating good fighters in Lacy, Kessler, it doesnt mean that you can beat a 'True Great' like a 90s RJJ ....
Lacy proved to be not a top line fighter, Kessler is still unproven as far as im concerned, hes beaten nobody of any note and his name is only brought up for 'Losing' to Calzaghe. So how do people actually think he can take a prime Jones, unless people havent actually seen a 90s Roy then it is totally ridiculous ..
