I am proud of Wlad and I think most should be.

I made the same point just a few posts earlier. It's things like that, that make me question Wlad's overall greatness or lack there of.

I thought hayes head movement was pretty stellar, wlad could not time him all night. Wlad did what he had to, thats what champs do.

I updated my post addressing the level of heavyweight Haye is, i don't think he would fare well against second tier heavyweights from recent decades, as a result its hard to get really excited about the result, it is what it is.

Find someone to beat him then, who's exciting at that.

    Not Klitschko's fault.

I agree Haye is simply the best of a very weak bunch of contenders now. I said in a post prior to the fight there were easily 10 better heavyweights than Haye during Lewis' era and I saw nothing last night to change my opinion.

Wlad did what he had to do and fought the best out there in Haye but when Haye is best name on your resume then you really haven't acheived a great deal in terms of legacy.

Its stupid to take out frustrations over the inadequacy of the division on Klitschko, the issue is that there aren't enough good fighters in the division, so why would you blame one of the only very good fighters in the division? That doesn't make sense.

If there were a dozen Klitschko level fighters in the division it would be an absolute riot, unfortunately there aren't, so we get to see lambs going to the slaughter, albeit rather slowly.

I cant even remember the last time they showed a Wlad fight, and yet again he puts on another lackluster performance. ****, even his own trainer tells him when he's stinking up the joint. I understand winning is the most important thing. Though doesn't the guy want to be remembered for something other than being the best of one of the worst era's in heavyweight history? The only exciting fights he was in, were ones where he was bounced off the canvas several times. Thats certainly not the legacy I want when I hang up the gloves.

Agreed. Wlad's fighting style is the antithesis of what we have come to know being heavyweight champion of the world means. He dominated Haye and did so landing only 1 clean punch and averaging about 8-9 pitiful punches landing a round. I felt at any point in the second half Wlad could have gone up a gear and taken Haye out but he simply refused to push himself to go up that extra gear.

When Tyson dominated a relatively weak era he owned the division with an iron fist destroying his opposition while Wlad holds on to it with a weak grasp.

It's nothing new though. Emanuel basically had to do everything but kick his fighter in the ass to get him to let the right hand go on a fighter whose gloves were filled feathers (Chambers). I mean if your really that afraid of getting hit, then why the hell are you a boxer?

Like I said, winning is what matters. He's surely no Arturo Gatti, but he wins. He would not be in the position he's in (being dominant) if he had a fan friendly style.

I know what you're saying though. And I agree he's pretty boring, but I gotta give the man props. I think at this point, he's earned it.

See that is where a lot of people would disagree. When people were saying before the fight comments along the lines of "Haye is getting to Wlad", they suggested it was to Haye's advantage, i didn't agree with that line of thought at all.

If someone lit a fire under Wlad's arse he would have knocked Haye out. There are two sides to the risk taking coin, the longer you drag something out the higher the probability something improbable will happen (see Haye landing big shots in the latter part of the fight).

Its alright against a Chambers, but against a fighter who is always dangerous like Haye, Klitschko absolutely could be more effective AND more exciting.

Wlad can't fight on the inside. I don't think he will ever have a slugfest type fight. Just my opinion. I know the Peter match was kinda intense but I didn't catch the entire fight. Just clips.

Wlad won, I guess I will give him props for that. It's just so tough to give a guy props when all he's beating is shitty opponents that are weaker than him.

In any two years of any generation or era of a division like the heavy's there are always just a couple of contenders.
Before in the one champion time contenders had to fight other contenders to get up to the number 1,2 or 3 position to fight the one and only Champ.

'Top' Contenders fight them selves less than they fight a belt holder.

In other divisions, where you have to pay a belt factory to be rated, you can decide that it's Champion is not your style, and not be rated....and be rated against some one you think you can beat.

There will still be 4 championship fights a year in the heavy weight division.
Will there be two contenders a year fighting?
Why risk it when you can fight bums and keep your place in the waiting list.(not fighting one's way up the list, just standing in palce doing nothing)....waiting for a big payday.....

Fight your way up the list has become as obsolete as production management....dont' risk a contender fight, where one can really learn something...stay real sharp....it ain't worth it.

Like when Louis, Ali, Holmes, Tyson, Lewis, and the K-bros.....eventually your division gets weak.

Every one here talks about how strong the time of those before the Klitchkos were. I wasn't there for Louis....but Ali, Holmes, Lewis were all sorts of people bitching how weak the division was..........Just like Now.

Lenox was disliked as real boring, chess playing, safety first.....now just 5-6 years later,,,,,oh we don't have exciting champions like Lenox.....he was hated as boring, safety first...
Ten years from now....how boring, not a single dominate Champ....a era too weak to have a solid champ...

Gee too bad we can't get a real fighting Champ like either of the Klitchko brothers.
You will be saying that....because I see the people that would have bitched like champs, praising boring safty first Lenox.
