Ali of 66, would have outboxed Vitali and Wlad and probaly won a decision, too fast and slick no way he would have KO'D them, but he would have decisioned them to damn fast and slick, Ali was just as tough as the bros, but slicker, faster, better footwork, and mentally tough also... Rememebr Ali fought way better fighters and fought an an era, of 15 rounds, and didn't have the modern training techniques spelling? and technology that the fighters of today enjoy.... I AGREE that Wlad is betetr than Vitaly, everything but the chin department, bigger, stronger, better boxer and more athletic...
I still have yet to hear a klitite make a good excuse as to why vitali quit on his stool vs a feather fisted cruiserweight with only a few rounds to go, while WELL AHEAD on all 3 cards. How did he make up for this in his ring career? When did he ever win a fight where he was challenged?
Liston is not on trial here, Vitali is. Vitali quit with only a few rounds to go vs a harmless opponent. Byrd couldn't have felled Vitali if vitali had no arms to work with. Vitali blew it. He never beat a fighter as good as chris byrd.
Boxing, especially at heavy weight, is a very dangerous business. It is up to the individual fighter to know when they can and cannot continue to defend themselves. It isn't about trying to please some anonymous whiny ass ***** at a keyboard who hasn't a clue. Whine all you want. Vitaly is a multi millionaire and you are, well, you.
Vitali was NOT easily beating Byrd in fact he only landed 8 more punches, while he was out of breath Byrd was coming on very strong, Klit-fanatics don't like the truth though.
****, he tore his rotor cuff... The injury is invisible to the naked eye... It takes hospital testing and a friggin' MRI scan---Goddammit.. My good ol' boy from my old hood back in Cali is into shooting and archery... He layed down his GPZ 550 back in the 1980s at 60+ miles an hour and ****ed his shoulder up to the max.... He needed surgery.... For a good year to year and a half, he couldn't draw back on his bow.... At a glance, he looked fine, but his archery days were on hold.... think:bbb MR.BILL:hat
Vitali is tough and mean! He has the perfect demeanor for a Heavyweight and can prob. go another 2-3 years if he chooses. Most boxing fans appreciate Vitali for who he is and what he has done.A small percent of "fight fans" want him to lose so they can feel good about themselves and their predictions of a lost for vitalis last 7-10 15 fights...!We will miss the Klitschkos when they Retire and they will be appreciated and respected years down the road. I enjoy them now and look forward to their next fights. The best thing to happen to boxing in the last 20 years !
Have you consulted SNV about when the world will end? There is some talk that it might end this year, and others say next year. I'd like to know what the oracle himself has to say on the matter. About the topic at hand, Vitali is tough. Proved it in the Lewis and Sanders fights.
Nick "The Dick" Valuev was / is a hoax................ His skills were basic.... Jab, jab, jab, lob the right cross and regroup.... Over and over..... Nothing fancy whatsoever..... I'm kinda' glad he's now basically done with on PPV or Cable TV..... Valuev made some good money, but he will be forgotten in terms of skills, but his hulking size and ugliness will never be forgotten.... :good:bbbthumbsup MR.BILL:hat
He is very durable... made a bad mistake when he did not continue vs. Byrd while way ahead on the cards after 9 rounds (shoulder injury). 89-82 on one card and 88-83 on the others. He wanted to continue vs. Lewis but their fight was stopped due to a cut near Klitschko's eye. After 6 rounds he was ahead 58-56 on all cards. His only losses. He's never been down. The guy is tough. He should have fought Byrd and Lewis again. He was willing. His brother went 2-0 (1) vs. Byrd. Vitali Klitschko went 2-0 (2) vs. Puritty and Sanders... both knocked Wladimir Klitschko out. They both fought Sam Peter. Peter dropped Wladimir 3 times but lost 114-111 on all cards in their first fight, 2005. Wlad stopped Peter in 10 rounds of their rematch, 2010. Vitali dominated Peter the entire fight and stopped him in 8 rounds, 2008.
