Well to Hearns credit he got up before the count of 10 against SRL, ( ref stoppage), Hagler, and Barkley. Even though, I don't argue with the stoppages.

Those rudimentary brawlers are also more likely to have much shorter careers and suffer long-term health defects. A solid chin may protect you from a one punch KO, but the accumulated punishment from thousands of punches will always catch up to a no-defense brawler and will ruin the quality of his life in the years to come. Glass chin fighters are kind of blessed in that regard because being KO'd by 1 punch is far less damaging in the long run than eating hundred of solid shots for 12 rounds. That's why deaths and serious injuries in boxing are most common in the lower weight classes because of the amount of punches thrown.

And for the record fighters who train their asses off and can't help having glass jaws>>>>***** ungrateful fans who would never think about stepping into the ring without headgear.

Most of these fighters begun training since when they were kids. It would be stupid of them to give up their craft and livelihood just because they discover they have less punch resistance when they turn pro. They should just improve their defense and tell redneck fans who don't appreciate boxing technique and just wanna see bloody brawls to **** off. Like Floyd says it's not worth ruining your health just to please a bunch of drunkards who will have forgotten about you once you've retired. Most of those types aren't real boxing fans either, they just wanna see blood.

Ali's case is only publicized due to his fame. They're thousands of ex-boxers suffering from parkinsons and other defectgs and the majority are no-defense bruisers from the lighter weight classes. At least Ali has the money to afford decent care, most of the other guys are left shaking it up in some remote Latin American village because they fought for peanuts and received no healthcare.

You're talking HW vs little people. No comparison. Put Mayweather or Pac in there Wlad, we'll see whose brain goes to pudding. The little leagues can't take a punch from their own. What would happen if they fought with real men?

i disagree, I believe that sharp, keen and educated eyes are the most important attribute. if you see a punch coming your mind and your body prepare to sustain the impact or they will help you be quick enough to just get you out of the way of the punch. the ones that will always get you are the ones that you were not expecting and did not see. a reason for more "glass jaws" maybe that guys are turning pro much earlier with little amatuer experience. they get a few wins fighting in the weakest ciruit there is and when they step up in calibur they get destroyed. less experience means less educated eyes, most of them probably don't even know how to really see yet. if a guy knows and sees it's coming you will have a hard time knocking him cold. if he's new to the game you may drop him.

(this is all assuming that you're not fighting a sonny liston or a mike tyson type of power)

that should be written in stone somewhere.

funny thing- let alone without a headgear, the common man hasn't the nards to even step in with a headgear.
