I am amazed that some people completely ingonre what a beating a body takes from obesity. Even if Solis gets his weight sown for one fight, he will have gone through a weightloss bootcamp, which means a lot of detoxification, changes in body mechanics, not the right foundation for training at a wolrd class level. Vitali will get into camp already in good shape and use it to work on hi boxing. The age advantage is completely neutralized when a younger fighter doesn't take good care of his health, this is why Peter and Arreola looked older than Vitali in the ring.

Besides, Solis will most likely be 30 pounds above an ideal fighting weight. I wouldn't favor any HW, not Ali, not Tyson, Foreman or Lewis, over Vitali if they carry 30 extra pounds. Lewis had just a few pounds too much and struggled mightily.

Look, I'm a big believer in Solis but he's gonna have to come in at 240ish to beat V.K. Is he willing to do that at this point in his career?

Very good to hear Chef, allthough I don't expect much from Odlanier you never know. He might turn up in shape for all we know. I actually give that a less than 10% chance but hey, stranger things have happened in boxing.

I think Solis will give a good fight, but his conditioning will fail him.

I think most of us naysayers recognize Solis' talent. But he needs to be 240 *now* to have a good chance against Vitali in March.

CHEF is Wladimir's Training Camp Manager and Chef, and Vitali's Chef.

I just dont see the conditioning, passion, desire, in Solis to beat VK, 3 things that are essential for him to beat VK IMO.

Solis has appeared to be a methodical plodder thus far, one who is not consistent during rounds, due to his poor conditioning, and he fights with a distinct lack of passion imo.

I think Solis is a decent mid range fighter when he lets his hands go, but his attitude/conditioning is all wrong to beat VK imo. VK has height and reach over him, so its conceivable he will be the boss from range, which means Solis can do one of a few things imo, apply the pressure and be the one get off first, see if he can close that long range that VK will look to exploit him with, and draw him into a fight, but Solis does not have the stamina, or attitude to fight in that manner imo. Solis could utilize his mid range work by edging closer to VK, and look to slip inside VK's leads so he could counter with the left hook, or right hand, but that type of fighting might mean his success is few and far between, especially if he's not able to work his offense off those leads consistently enough, cause if he is trying to do that, VK might be more selective about what he puts out there, when he puts it out there. Only other way I can see Solis fighting, is if he comes foward, cuts the ring down, looks to stalk VK into areas of the ring where by he can bang him, namely, the ropes.

I just question Solis's attitude, conditioning to do any of that to be honest, and it aint like VK wont be trying to do something about that either. VK proved to me against Briggs, that he still has a lot to offer considering his age, I mean look at his output against Briggs, pretty impressive for his age imo.

Also, I question how effective someone who fights as flat footed and square as what Solis does, is going to be effective on the backfoot, so that strategy might be a none starter.

Hey Chef, how long have you been affiliated with the K brothers team? Just curious.
