If you are sooo sure, then put 100 bucks on it. You'll get 600 back...

    I like your strategy.

You make this thread a couple of months before the fight, so by the time the fight actually takes place everyone forgets it exists.

In the unlikely case that the underdog wins, you come back and bump this thread. If he loses, nobody else is going to bother looking for it again.

Yeah, I highly doubt any Cuban is gonna bet his life savings on a Solis v Klitschko fight.

I think Solis will put up a more competitive fight than the likes of Arreola, Briggs, Sosnowski, and Peter. But in terms of fighting style , he really is tailored made for Vitali. I thought of the high guard he employs, but Vitali throws punches at different angles, he'll break through the defence if Solis is too close in range. I don't think below 250lbs he'll have the strength to contend with the power of Vitali. Odlanier looked very in ineffective when he was going back against Julius Long. He is a aggressive clever fighter that stands his ground, and is good at countering. Against Dr Iron Fist, he will have a opponent who matches up in every skill. But with the obvious height disadvantages, which i think will be too much to make up for...

He will not be able to escape the onslaught, we all know my paisano Gamboa Express and I wish I could have the same faith he has in Solis, but when I pay for a product I want the best, I'll b rooting for Solis but if he comes 260+ fight night I'll not watch the fight, just on principle along.

So what VK koed this guy in one round or two, Matagwa almost killed Lopez and a vast majority here are favouring Lopez over Gamboa.
PS. Or is just because they are Cuban, and you guys are not use to c them kicking a$$ at the pro level.

  10. I followed Solis in his amatuer career. He was a beast. I havent seen a lot of recent solis but I am not sure he has the experience or tools to beat vitali.

NOPE. And to prove you wrong, I will try to keep this post active ( will bring it back from time to time ) until March 19. That way, if I am wrong all of you can come back and tell me I told you so...

But if Solis wins ( and I know he will ), then I can tell you guys, " Gamboa Express told you so " ... :good

Even though I don't gamble, it would be a great idea. But let's just keep it between opinions and not money...:good

if Vitali wins, you gotta make your avatar into a still of Vitali making Solis chow down on a straight right. I'm sure you'll have plenty of options.

I think Solis will put up a more competitive fight than the likes of Arreola, Briggs, Sosnowski, and Peter.

    Agreed, but he will win.

But in terms of fighting style , he really is tailored made for Vitali.

I actually think it's the opposite. If there's a boxer out there that can figure out Vitaly's weird style is Odlanier. He is not 3 times World amateur Champ and Olympic Champion for nothing. And don't even bring Audley Harrison into the topic because, " just because the mule blew air into a trumpet and it sounded it doesn't mean that the mule is a musician ". Get it ???

I thought of the high guard he employs, but Vitali throws punches at different angles, he'll break through the defence if Solis is too close in range.

And what do you think that Solis will be doing while Vitaly is doing that? He will be busy countering him also with power shots. Solis' high guard is a great wall, Vitaly will have many problems trying to get Solis clean in the face, while Solis will hit Vitaly many times clean. Vitaly has a horrible defence.

I don't think below 250lbs he'll have the strength to contend with the power of Vitali.

It's quite the opposite, Solis has major strength in the inside and outside. Did you see how he was pushing away Austin with his arms? and Austin weighs around 250 to 255, similar to Vitaly. He will do the same to Vitaly.

Odlanier looked very in ineffective when he was going back against Julius Long.

Actually he barely went back with Long but that was when he was 8-0 and weighting 243lbs. believe it or not, he is 20 pounds heavier now and hasn't hardly any speed nor accuracy. Solis is a lot more stronger now.

Against Dr Iron Fist, he will have a opponent who matches up in every skill. But with the obvious height disadvantages, which i think will be too much to make up for.

Matches him in every skill? Really? Vitaly doesn't throw side hooks, nor hardly any uppercuts so why are you saying that? Solis' jab is faster and as hard as Vitaly's. And about the reach they are the same, and about the height? well, Solis is very used to fighting guys in the 6'5 and 6'7 range, remember the 2 times he defeated Felix Savon? Savon is 6'6...:good
