Few things. Hatton has a chance, he would have to fight the fight of his life and more. But I doubt it. Floyd is just the counter to everything Hatton brings. Pavlik was favored by a lot of people to beat Jermain, as a lot of people felt Jermain was flawed and undeserving of the titles as he fought more and more.
Nope I am simply on the minority on the RJJ issue, but yet not alone....remember that...not alone....
Just because you are the minority doesnt mean anything but you are one the few and far between people who thinks RJJ is not top 100 ATG. FEW and Far between, most everyone else would disagree with you heavily. Which the post that you made showed that, you kept repeating some sentence, and you thought by repeating it, would make it true. I dont even want to get into it. Orishman you have some good post about fighters but mostly they are biased and show your extreme dislike for the fighter or extreme like for the fighter.
hatton beat urango 119-109 on all 3 judges scorecards for ****s sake. bare in mind that hatton averages 25 more punches a round than pbf and then you may start to understand.
PBF vs. Hatton is far different than Taylor vs. Pavlik. I was really on the fence for Taylor vs. Pav. but the day before the fight I picked Pav. to win similar to what actually happened in the fight with the exception of round #2. Most guys would have not gotten up after that bombing in round 2 but he's 1 tough dude. Impressive recuperation. I keep wanting to say Hatton's gonna pull this out, but Floyd is so much better than Taylor it's hard to see him fall out of form. Not counting Hatton out at all, he could have just the right style to pull it off but I'm not convinced yet.
I will say that maybe some of you guys are right, I am predictable on who I like and dislike…and when it comes to Puerto Rican fights, I have the blinders on, now that said…it doesn’t take away the fact that when I analyzed the fight regarding two opponents I usually leave my bias behind and address the “how to do list” …the fights usually take their own personality, and at times the go the way I describe and the outcome I predicted do to the facts….now again all I was doing with this thread in my “how to do list” for Hatton, for what I know from his history as a fighter and same for PBF…sure I predicted Urango to win, on my how to list, he never even came close to the fight plan I had, he was left hook and right hands happy the entire night…Maussa did make Hatton look bad at times, connecting at a very low %..yet he also felt to Ricky, and Tszyu…yet Collazo, I did said that he was going to present mayor issues to Hatton since the cat was a southpaw, and Hatton only time hitting the canvas was against a southpaw and Collazo was nothing but bad news for him…and it showed…he barely escape on a decision that was and still is questionable…. Now that said, PBF is nothing like Collazo, Collazo was a weaver type of boxer while PBF is a mover, sure he can weave but he is slick mover east-west and north-south…now PBF comes straight up thru the front door, it is hard to catch him due to his speed…Ricky is not a slow boxer and he is a smart boxer, so when PBF come thru the front door he will need to apply pressure tangle and roughhouse PBF grappling and punching to the body while he grabs PBF arms, and wait until the Ref comes and break them….he will need to act quickly to prevent PBF from getting out…if this happens in a constant basis, Hatton’s has a great chance…can he lure PBF to an ugly fight. We will see…
