I know I predicted a Hatton win, but I also know it wasnt out of the question that Manny could win, Hell it wasnt out of the question that he could stop Hatton. But to do him in the way he did, I did not see that comming, I dont think anybody else did and the ones who will actually say they saw it comming, simply repeated Roach (And you know it so dont start lying) However I am starting to think, Perhaps we are all witnessing something rare in the sport, another legand no doubt, but not the Mayweather Jr or Oscar De La Hoya type legand hell not even Chavez sr type. Manny Pacquiao in my eyes is moving on the turf of Joe Louis and Sugar Ray Robinson if he can keep this rate of work going he will be up there with those guys, in fact I really think he has a good shot at beating Floyd if they fight, and if he beats Mayweather Jr (assuming Floyd gets by Marquez) I would think its safe to say he is up there with those ATGs of the past. if he can actually get more in besides Floyd, such as follow up with a win over Cotto or Mosley, I would have to say he is probably the best fighter ever~~~ call me crazy but I think Manny Pacquiao is redefining the term P4P
i don't know if anyone really expected this to happen. i know roach said 3 but come on...i for one am still very shocked about what happened
I know these cats in here saying that they called it didnt beleive it in their hearts they just listend to roach and what he had to say, Most people knew better than to say that simply because of How Hatton did in the Mayweather fight.... Nobody truely beleived that it would go down like that. and its like I said, I love knock outs but those kind I just cant stand to watch HBO did a great job of taking the camera off of Hatton while he was down he did not look good at all.
Well said man. I know we had some back and forth about Manny's chances, but at the end of the day, I'm still a little stunned also. It's not often you see a "clinic" put on with that kind of viciousness. It was breathtaking. I blew off Roach and his "inside of three" line. I thought more like inside of 8-10. I have no idea where Manny will end up among the ATGs, but I know I'm going to enjoy watching him for as long as he's still lacing them up. The man is pure class inside the ring and out.
even if he is just competive with floyd and loses a near decision- i would still have him p4p the number one fighter in the sport. him fighting floyd- is literally like floyd fighting hopkins. theres no shame in losing- and if he wins!? then forget it- a small great man beating a medium great man- is a rare rare thing- and he ll be top 10 all time - no doubt about it. right now- i think he s at the roy jones level- below leonard and duran. if he beats floyd- he equals leonard- if he beat s mosely or cotto?? he truly attains immortality- alongside robinson and ali- and thats it.
I know I know, I mean after that knock out, No way could I even discredit Hatton he has beat some very solid tuff fighters nobody can deny that, and for Pac to lay him out that brutal that quick and obviously that well planned. This is a whole new era of fighter, I mean ****, speed power and the ability to execute he is going to surpass Mayweather Jr no doubt, he is going to surpass Roy Jones Jr seriously this is a 100% true legit throw back
A poster over here named StovePipe called it. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=137820
I know I saw that ****, But I doubt he actually put Money down I think he is blowing smoke out of his ass, he might have called it but not from a realistic perspective more less from a I wanna have Mannys babies perspective if anything. Nobody could have seen that comming I am sorry!~ I just do not buy that.
I believe him but that's not the topic anyway, it IS way too shocking and I can't blame you for thinking that way.
I was talking to a co trainer about Mayweather vs Pacquiao and Honestly I just cant even figure out how this one plays out, Judah and Corley gave Mayweather some trouble being south paws with speed and Power in both fights Floyd was able to adapt. But Manny is an entirely different kind of fighter, How will Floyd adapt to that? But I think we both agreed that it could go to Floyd but Manny will Rock Floyd hurt him probably drop him but in the end Floyd always finds a way to win. But honestly I just dont know anymore!~
I'm a huge Pac fan and Mayweather fan as you know and I have said the EXACT same thing you said here and also ended it with "Don't know anymore". This fight I'm fully expecting Pacquiao to be the favorite, maybe even a heavy favorite. Think you know already that Mayweather has trouble with southpaws and the Judah fight proves it really, imagine Judah x10 and can perform that way for 12 full rounds and can also adapt, that's Pacquiao. This is no easy task and I won't be surprised at all if Mayweather loses, it's obvious his come-back is for this fight and calling out Marquez confirms it as Pac has called out and destroyed Floyd's last two opponents. So far I have no prediction really, will need to wait and see how Floyd performs against Marquez, just got to see how he will perform after the long lay-off.
Actually some people are ticked off that Floyd picked Marquez rather than Cotto or Mosley, but the truth is this is a come back tune up fight, he could have called up a bum for this fight and didnt who does he grab? The guy who just knocked out Juan Diaz and gave Manny Pacquiao all he could handle. I am actually in approval of what Floyd is doing in fighting Marquez cus I do think its a tuff fight for Floyd honestly it will bring out the best in Floyd. Cotto and Mosley should fight each other in the mean time.
If PBF handles Marquez impressively, I can't imagine him being any kind of big underdog against Manny. I'm thinking an even money line with swings one way or another as the fight approaches. There's still a sizeable camp that believes Floyd is the true P4P#1. At anything close to even money, they will unload big time.
