They are just 2 different fighters. Manny is a brawler, he uses his speed and underrated power to beat u. Floyd is a defensive wizard, counter puncher. This fight if it ever happens, will not be the same as Hatton and Pac. Pac will not land that easily as he did against Barrera, Marquez and Morales. Floyd will not let that happen. Expect Floyd to have the advantage.
I disagree Manny is NOT brawling these days, his recent fights show you that he is placing his shots and NOT just throwing to score but actually placing them to do damage.
Totally agree with you here, think it's more a process of taking a "tune up" type of fight after the lay-off and still continue to promote a future fight with Pacquiao. This is what Pacquiao has done too, he fought and completely destroyed Floyd's last two opponents and those two opponents gave Floyd tough challenges, he struggled badly with DLH and Hatton was actually proving that he's IN the fight at some points till he got KO'd.
i think stovepipe called it out right, but not because he saw it coming but because betting in a 1st or 2nd round knockout has extremely good odds. and he did bet on other rounds to give testament to this. but hey, my opinion doesn't matter anyway. all respects to stovepipe
Very true. All depends on how he performs against Marquez, that should be a decent enough test before going in against Pacquiao. I'm expecting Mayweather to try and make an impression to send Pac a message in the process. We'll have to wait and see, in boxing you just never know, Mayweather could actually end up losing and we'll be in shock discussing Marquez/Pac instead.
Exactly Floyd isnt comming back just for the money, He is comming back in this fight IMO to prove something to prove to Pacquiao and the world that he is still the man~ IMO its a huge Risk cus anything can happen in Boxing, Marquez is a highley skilled boxer puncher Mayweather has his work cut out for him in this fight no doubt, and I am certain that Floyd wants to prove a point here.
Are you an idiot? What was it that Steward say? PAc has moved to the next level of being an offensive machine and being hard to hit at the same time. I mean how often have you seen a fighter knock you down by either hand with such viciousness. I was a big Pacfan but I couldnt celebrate that way I used to in his other wins because I was stunned. Even Manny Steward was lost for words, I bet he didnt expect the fight to go the way it did.
He has to anyway, if he just ditched this it would prove that he doesn't really care about status as much as he said he did. Regardless of what he does my support remains as a true fan but I know well enough because it's VERY obvious that he's after Pac. If he remains retired despite being young while someone else completely takes his spotlight and makes people totally forget about him then there's a problem. I'm glad he realised it and made a quick return otherwise the insults about him would be all over and no sane fan of his would even bother to argue with them. It's time to come back and give it a shot, I know he's confident he can do it otherwise he won't bother to return, the lay-off was a needed break as far as I'm concerned and hopefully the return is spot on. If he loses then at least he tried you know, better fall trying than fall running.
Stunned pretty much sums up the night, if you weren't Freddie Roach. Manny was surprised, Hatton was surprised, the crowd was surprised. Steward didn't know what to say, Merchant was busy cashing his ticket, and all Lampley could muster was "boom" for the KO. I haven't seen a stranger post-KO atmosphere since Oscar - Hopkins.
The come back is needed, Honestly the people that doubt Floyd do not just doubt him on pure hate, though there are some haters that just hate, I have always discredited Floyd simply because he wasnt really taking fights that were as meaningful as he claimed them to be. I mean Mitchell Ndou etc... those are meaningless fights and a waste of time, even the Baldimor fight was BS. I think Floyd sees where his match making skills have took him, he is not happy going out in retirement the way he did, which IMO will make him dangerous. He does need a life and death kind of fight to stamp his legacy every great fighter does, and I beleive it will be Pacquiao, However I will not sleep on Marquez. IMO Marquez will train twice as hard for this win as he did for both Pacquiao fights, I think JMM knows what it would mean if he derails a Mayweather come back.
Marquez has victory in his mind, he knows how HUGE a fight with Pacquiao will be if he wins this one. I'm sure he's already guaranteed shitloads of money for this one, just imagine how much more if he wins and goes in against Pac. All of this is just more than enough motivation for a guy who always claimed he wants major fights in Marquez and this is his best and possibly last chance. I'm also with you about this fight being far too dangerous for people to overlook this early and immediately discuss Pacquiao. As both of us stated, let's wait and see how this one goes before getting carried away. One thing guaranteed, both Marquez and Mayweather plan to make major statements going in against each other to reach Pacquiao next.
Which is exactly why Mayweather should be respected and welcomed back with open arms, This actually makes Marquez more dangerous than just an tune up come back opponent~
Shut your trap, moron. Here's what i wrote before the fight: "I got Pac by KO in Round 1 & 2 (stovepipe) This isn't far fetched at all. Ricky RUNS INTO PUNCHES, contrary to Hoya or Diaz, who didn't charge in , and protected their heads by covering up. The most devastating KOS happen when the fighter turns into the shot, because the forward momentum adds to the force of the blow. It already happened with the check hook. Ricky will be giving Pac free shots possibilities each time he charges in hands by his waist, because Ricky is a stupid fighter at times ( sorry to say)." "Hatton about to endure a bigger beating than vs PBF A lot of people think Hatton held his own in the early rds vs PBF. This is completely wrong. He was getting hit with straight rights the whole time, but his forward momentum gave the impression he was stalking PBF, thus he was awarded a few early rds. The story will repeat saturday, only this time, Manny won't be as economical with his output, and his punches will have more snap. Hatton's hands by his waist style, take 2 to land 1 attitude suits perfectly Manny's busy and accurate punching; his in & out footwork won't be a problem as Manny can time very well his shots and has excellent handspeed & balance. Ricky will lose confidence very early as he will be unable to avoid Pac's flurries ( PBF repeat) It will lead to a much more crushing defeat than vs PBF. Pac anywhere between 5 and 9 , possibly by cuts TKO." A lot of people saw it coming. Roach saw it coming. You didn't. But's ok, i took your $$$. :good Next time you open your mouth, you might want to check my opinion first.:deal
I dont give a **** if you wrote that before the fight I actually beleive that you only wrote that cus you were repeating Roach seriously~ I do doubt you is there a problem with that?
Roach said this ?? :nut Dumb *****. That's my analysis. I predicted it to the letter. It's in the forums. Once again, since you're ******ed: The most devastating KOS happen when the fighter turns into the shot, because the forward momentum adds to the force of the blow. It already happened with the check hook. Ricky will be giving Pac free shots possibilities each time he charges in hands by his waist, because Ricky is a stupid fighter at times ( sorry to say). :rofl
