Shumenov's workrate was disappointing to say the least.

In the earlier rounds (which I thought were very close,) Beibut didn't put together combinations. he essentially just threw single shots at Hopkins.

It was a pretty wide UD for Hopkins. No way could I give Shumenov more than 3 rounds.

Hopkins won on ringcraft, with a few punches more thrown in for good measure. The knockdown was the icing on Hopkins win imho.

Watching Hopkins was like I was watching an older version Floyd.:think

I was left wondering if Floyd could fight till he was damn near 50 too:think:think

I also think Floyd is capable of doing this, but not undefeated, I mean how could someone keep his "0" at 50 years of age.. he would still be doing the same BHop is doing, outsmarting his opponents

I had Shumenov winning the first 4 rds because BHop seemed reluctant to fight, throwing one counter at a time and not doing anything on the inside.

He won rds 5-12 except a case could be made that Shumenov won maybe the 7th....idk, he landed a flush uppercut and was agressive.

Sad fight though really.....I know Bhop dropped Beibut in the 11th, but cmon....it was a flash KD, he wasnt really hurt.....

Neither guy applied any real pressure, they were both hitting air more than making good contact. BHop defo landed the more telling blows though, with that lead R hand......

Garbage fight though. Especially before Bhop started throwing the lead R. :-(

This is even worse than giving Calzaghe a farce of a win over Hopkins

His best weapon was his face, hoping that Hopkins breaks a hand or two.

The rest of your post basically became pointless after your opening stanza.

Hopkins took the fight. there were close rounds to start with, but Bernard started to warm up and Shu never brought anything other than the crap he started out with.

full credit to Hopkins. i thought age would catch up with him in this one. but no, he was having fun like it was a stroll in the park. Shu was made for him.

Hopkins landed 50% of his shots. That's alot of not hitting air.

Hopkins landed ALL the telling blows.
