I am willing to bet my ESB existence that Floyd never fights Canelo

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Juiceboxbiotch, May 9, 2013.

  1. Lots of people in the media are talking about it, lots of people here talking about it like it's a real possibility.

It's not. And I'm willing to permanently ban myself from ESB if they actually fight... because I'm 100% sure and confident that the fight simply won't ever happen.

For the purposes of being held to this, lets give it a time limit: The end of Mayweather's contract with Showtime.

This bet expires as soon as Floyd hits 49-0 without fighting Canelo. Subscribe to this thread, do whatever you have to do to hold me to it.

The fight won't happen. And if it does, it will be because Canelo agrees to kill himself to make 147. Even in this case, I will adhere to the bet and never post here again effective when the bell rings to start round 1. :deal

I'd be willing to bet you that Canelo is his next fight.

Let's do it. That gets announced, you go. Mayweather vs someone else, I go.

What's wrong with Danny Garcia? The Lineal 140 pound champion, undefeated and has beaten good fighters.

He's one of the best fighters out there for Floyd to fight.

    Garcia > Rios. By far.

I have doubts it'll happen too , but for all the money potentially involved I think it probably will. And Floyd has little excuses not to fight him. There both champs at 154. Canelo is with GBP. It really all depends on Floyd's willingness to fight him. If Canelo looks like conan the destroyer going forward, I'd be willing to say 50/50 it doesn't happen.

It pretty much has to be one of his next two fights. Showtime has no other choice if the Guerrero PPV results are the truth.

Canelo will be the next fight at 154. PBF UD 8-4.

Canelo is good but like most boxers he is unable to adjust or at least vs PBF. He is not mobile or quick enough compared to PBF.

I am not crazy enough to risk my ESB existence. However, not only do I think that Floyd never fights Canelo, I am 100% sure that Floyd does not fight 5 more times.

At the end of the day, I think Floyd cares more about his '0' in the loss column, than finishing out his contract.

You know, some days I really wish that Floyd will finish out his contract. If he does, I guarantee you that Floyd loses at least once. Remember, Floyd has fought like 5 times in the last 5 years, and that was closer to his prime years.

Now that Floyd is well past his prime years, you cannot expect him to suddenly speed up his pace and fight more than twice as often, and still be successful.

If I had to bet on this, I say Floyd fights 2 or 3 more times before he calls it quits.

Pac had a belt at 154. Should he call out Canelo?
