I had a job in boxing, but not as a boxer. I was associated with a very famous fighter, and had acting rolls in films during rhe early/middle 70's. Who am I ?

Afraid not Burt. Wish I'd thought of your one myself :good The boxer in question came along a while after Mauriello and Lamotta. The films my mystery person appeared in were of the same franchise. As I said,in the early 70's. The first film he was a gangland boss's henchman. And he moved over to the hero's side in the second one. Famous films.

could it be earlier than the 70's?

My guess is Stepin Fetchit. His first film was in 1925, and his last was in 1974 I believe

He was a friend of Ali, and was in his camp early in his career
