I don't like him, but it is nice to see him not fight a shane mosley that is clearly shot after his weak performance against Mayorga.

He'd be best off fighting a rematch against Clottey or if he had some balls fight Paul Williams again.

However, there is no question that Mayweather would outbox his ass badly.:good

If the news is true . . . I would only applaud Margo on that decission if he is fighting Williams or Clottey next. The planned Cotto rematch is still too far. It's gonna be a very long idle time for Margo.

I'll wait and see who he fights next instead.

I'm personally glad he turned it down because Shane doesn't need this kind of beating at this stage of his career.

Why? It's not like he's not fighting Mosley out of the kindness of his heart to not beat up an old man.

He's not fighting him because he wants more money.

That is a fair point Thread Stealer - But given Cotto beat Shane and Margo TKO'd Cotto - I could also see it from a pride point of view that Margo should either give Clottey or Williams a rematch.

That or Money is coming out of retirment and we can just put all these painful threads behind us until the next Calzaghe or Klistchko fight.

    Co-Sign.

If Margo got the $$$ he wanted, he wouldn't have a problem giving good ol' Shane a beating.

I know it doesn't prove much, but you're applauding him for turning down this fight for what? Margarito and his team aren't turning it down because of Mosley's age. They're turning it down because they want more money.

Why does that deserve applause? That's a main reason why we don't see many of the fights we want to see.

Margarito and his team apparently have already turned down or ignored rematches with Williams and Clottey. Who should he fight?

Maybe he's applauding their decision, regardless of the reasons they made it. The reason surely wasn't because Margo suddenly thought "nah, he's an old man, he doesn't deserve a beating".

I'm not getting on you, but there is no "regardless of the reasons". AM turned this money down because he wanted more money plain and simple. Everyone kept saying AM is now this big ppv bonanza, and that Williams just wanted to fight AM for the money or for whatever reason. AM was offered 4 mil, to rematch Williams and he turned it down. Nobody called AM a coward. Floyd did the same with AM, yet he took a fight with Baldy who Floyd and Goosen knew would be able to generate 8 mil plus because of the high profile names he beat...and was called a coward. Floyd didn't fight AM because he could not be guaranteed he would be paid 8 mil when the Arum offer was supposedly 7 mil and change.

This after he told floyd that he couldnt get him 7 to fight Margo or Cotto...It was a bull**** offer and everyone in boxing except Margo fans knew it.

Floyd also did not like the low end offers of his contract if he beat AM also. That is never talked about.
