Wow... what a performence. I dont know why, but this fight Pac showed something else.... no, he wasnt able to hurt Clottey (maybe because Clottey hid his face for 90% of the fight) but wow.... I would have never thought he would dominate Clottey that badly. This is a clottey who has never been dominated before, period. Once again, Pac shows hes just on another level. Over 1200 punches? Incredible.....

Pac has shown he can be a berzerk killer, Pac has shown he can be elusive, Pac has shown he can counterpunch, Pac has shown he can be the stalker, and now tonight Pac has shown that he can simply throw 1200 punches in a fight when he needs to.

I didnt give Pac much of a shot at Mayweather, ill be honest, and i realise that Mayweather is in another solar system to Clottey and if you want to see a fighters output drop, put them in with someone they cant hit, but still, i was impressed tonight and a fight with mayweather just got that more interesting to me.

As for Clottey, what can i say...... in all honesty, i liked Clottey, and i still do but i kinda lost a little something for him tonight. How are you gonna bring an ordinary performence like that in such an extraordinary situation? And he KNEW he needed a knockout to win in the 11th and 12th and he STILL refused to open up. I dont know... call it 'smart' or whatever you want, but its not for me. Yes i realise Pac had a lot to do with it, but sometime during the fight, wether it be early or it be late, a Champion will have to put it on the line, and Clottey didnt, and shows ONCE AGAIN why he will never win his biggest fights.

I thought the night was so so, the undercard was awful, clottey was awful, but Pac made up for it to make it so so.

Castillo SHOULD NEVER FIGHT AGAIN. Period. I bought into all his talk of him being back in the mix of things and 'feeling' it again, and all that, but he just is as shot as a fighter can be. In fact he shouldnt be allowed to fight.

I was completely dissapointed in the Soto Diaz match, and Diaz actually did a lot better then i thought he would. But to me it seemed like a friendly sparring match, until a few seconds throughout the later rounds. Diaz impressed me, and despite the win, Soto did not. I dont know if Soto was going easy on Diaz or what.... but that was a pretty dull fight, and closer IMO then the scores would indicate although yes i realise Diaz was KD'd twice.

Anyways, i had to express my feelings towards Pacs performence, and when he said it was for all the boxing fans out there, throwing 1200 punches, damn.... what more could one want from their p4p champ? :good

THIS is the biggest load of **** i've heared in a long tim on ESB :verysad

First you say Pac fought a great fight and then you go on to say Clottey was ordinary?! If this gets you going, then next time just save your money and go down to the Wildcard and watch Pac train for an hour, because thats all this fight was!!

That fight was the biggest farce I have ever seen!! Clottey came to survive, he never at anypoint in the fight looked like he wanted to win. didnt use his strength or his size to his advantage, didnt spoil him or lean on him... just stood there with his hands up and took pacs shots for 12 rounds. didnt land a single meaningful punch, even the uppercuts were pushed through. Pacquiao looked like he was dancing around a big, 160lb punchbag for the whole night. Why didnt Clottey even try and win? What was his intentions?... To survive against Pacquiao? Oh my god, I feel so sorry for the people who had to pay for that ****!!... Just a workout for Pacquiao, who at no point in the fight shown any sign if tiredness or slowing down. What the fu.....? :bart

Its not Pacs fault that Clottey couldnt be at all competetive (or maybe it is)

Hello, he faced THE HIGHEST RATED AVAILABLE WELTERWEIGHT

That there is the facts.... again, when the mayweather fight fell through, he fought the highest ranked available fighter in his weightclass

How exactly is applauding Pac for his performence a load of crap? please enlighten me.... WHAT MORE could Pac have done with a guy who was there to stand behind his guard the entire fight?

pac did as much as he could- gave the fans a performance- clottey stunk it up- i think he was proud to just survive- really dissappointing. I think his stock goes way down- its ironic- I think he never had great confidence in winning- and just wanted to survive to say he went the distance - and increase his rep. all he did was stink out the place and nobody will want to go near him again on ppv. who would pay to see him fight again?

still the size difference- you could see it each time either landed clean- was huge- and they each fought in contrast to that- it was pac who was bold, and clottey who was defensive.

my concern is that pac couldnt quite get thru clotteys d to really hurt or corner him- i wonder how mays defence will be for pac if this is the case.

Ya, Pac DID fight a great fight.... are you serious? you must be joking....

You tell me please what you would have liked to see Pac do in there other then what he did? please enlighten me.

And yes, Clottey was ordinary, that doesnt take away from Pacs performence :patsch

And Clottey wasnt just ordinary for no reason, Pac made him look that way.... but my gripe is that Clottey didnt go above and beyond and rise to the challenge (like usual) instead he played it safe.

A great showing is a great showing, a fighter can have a great showing while his opponent doesnt.... what is it about that that you dont get exactly?

Pacquiao just proved he can throw 1200+ punches at WW vs a beast like clottey and pretty much win almost every round.

Meh, Pac managed to outwork a man who didn't come to fight. Big whoop. He landed a whole bunch of blocked punches and got the nod by the judges. Not a spectacular outing by any means. He just went in there and did his job and picked up the W. Good for him.

Now let's never speak of this shitfest ever again.

Thats what i kept saying during the fight, youve got Pac who should be fighting at 135 or 140, chasing and knocking about Clottey.... unbelievable.

I agree for the most part Pac couldnt break the guard, but most people havnt been able to split Clotteys defence, and i dont think Mayweathers shell when he uses it is quite as sturdy as Clotteys, and i dont think Mayweather is as strong to absorb that, though i dont imagine for a second that that would be the defence Mayweather imploys. But your right man, Pac wasnt able to crack it too much, but then what does he do? Tear up the body.

We have all seen plenty of fighters get frustrated with the shell defence AND NOT ADAPT to it, but pac did.... he worked the body in a way he seldom has before and idk... he impressed me about as much as he could against Clottey barring knockdowns and such.

I didn't think Clottey really changed much honestly, but what you saw there, was the massive gulf in talent between Pacquiao and the best welters. Fighting that fight, Clottey almost beat Margarito and Cotto - He didn't change, but his opponent did. The result was that he lost every round, in my opinion, and got taken to school.

Sure, he didn't put up much fight but when has Clottey in the past? It works for him like it works for Abraham or Winky. In this fight, his opponent didn't crumble like usual though and his offence was negated by the amount of shots that Pacquiao threw.

It was one-sided by not because Clottey is a overrated fighter but because Pacquiao made him look overrated.

hey s1983 i want you back in here and tell me what exactly you think Pac should have done more of or differently in that fight to the point where this is the biggest load of **** youve seen on ESB.... im waiting.

Pac had a guy who had never been dominated before and adapted enough and performed to the point of the most one sided schooling of Clotteys career.

I want you to tell me what pac should have done.

No doubt bud, i agree Pac made Clottey look worse because of his own performence.

And i also agree it was the same Clottey, but see m'man, that is where my problem with Clottey comes in.

He fought the same fight that he did against cotto and margarito, in performences in which he knows why he lost, and then he brings it like that against Pac, in the biggest fight of his life and on the biggest stage he'll ever have against the best opponent he will ever fight..... and he brought the usual. At one point in the fight (probably when his trainer was pleading with him to do so) he should have risen himself to the occasion he was in and put it on the line, the fact that he didnt, leaves me with a bad taste for him.... i still like clottey but he was dissapointing to say the least.

    just imo
