you all cant make your minds up on here, first clotteys output and the way he fought was no different to any other fight hes had, and now you all say pac made him fight like a coward. :?

Clottey did open up in the eleventh, and pac had his best round of the night landing more than 30 punches while throwing more than 100. Everytime clottey opened up pac was there to hit him.......that's why he threw lesser punches than he did in his past fights, he was never able to get off. Pac was simply too much.

i am obsessed much :yep. whenever i say 'so and so' showed a great performance, i explain myself and if people tell me otherwise, i listen and take note, so i expect people to take note of what I am saying also.

i have now accepted that clottey was the normal, everyday clottey from past fights and i have accepted that pac did his part... but people are still claiming that it was a great performance and he deserves lots of credit.... i just dont get it so i am explaining myself

exactly, so why was this a good performance from pacquiao if his task was never gonna be a tough one against clottey?

i think that particular comment is aimed towards pacquiaos wow factor... sort of like everyone wants to see pacquiao fight, and he dominated opponents, no matter how big or good they are. Pacquiao, along with Mayweather and Marquez, are the best fighters we have seen in years but comparing any of them to Ali is very bold.

Yeah actually I can't think of too many things Ali and Pac have in common, or Ali and any of the fighters you mentioned.

I guess Pac's biggest fans can compare Pac refusing random blood testing to Ali refusing the draft, both of them warriors against the "Man's" oppression.

I just don't get it. It is easier to believe the supernatural than to doubt Pac. :blood

You're confusing me with another poster, moron. IMO, Clottey never fought like the way he did against Pac in the past. Yes, he was the same defensive fighter, but he was never this afraid to take risks. Can you please understand that?

so pacquiao made clottey scared to punch because of his constant output of punches?

can you do me a favour and go watch that fight again? there are many times, MANY times, in that fight where clottey had the option to throw a punch, right from the opening bell. i would agree with you if clottey has started off throwing punches but backed off, but he didnt, he was ultra-defensive right from the opening bell, its not liike he had a taste of pac and then went on the defensive, so you have nothing to backup your theory that clottey was scared of pac.

If you call Clottey being scared of Pacquiao's punches a theory, then what makes you think him not being scared isn't a theory? You're just putting up double standards here. Well, my "theory" is that Clottey knows that engaging with Pac is very dangerous. Look what happened to Hatton. Tried to slug it out, boom(Jim Lampley-esque)...knocked down, 3 times including the KO. Cotto? Boom. Knocked down twice. Even Marques tried to exchange with him. Boom. Knocked down, the guy who gave Pac the most hell. That's how I'm backing up my "theory."

Clottey did not want to end up like Hatton and Cotto. You said it yourself, he had to be ultra defensive, which his corner didn't like. Clottey knew that if he opened up and threw more punches, he'd get countered fast. Why do you keep downplaying Pacquiao for trying to make it a fight but Clottey just refused to exchange?
