Young lost to Dokes, Cooney, and Ossie AFTER his loss to Norton. That's been the main issue in this debate, you're not focusing on WHEN Norton and Douglas fought their best opponents. Norton beat more ranked guys who were coming off good wins, period. Norton was always in shape and did his best in every fight while trying to get Douglas to stay focused was harder than pulling teeth.

Douglas showed ATG potential for one fight, Norton arguably beat Ali twice (3rd fight was a blatant robbery) and lost a razor thin decision to Holmes when Norton was past his athletic peak. In other words, Norton was more consistently great.

Cobb is Douglas' 4th or 5th best win so you probably don't want to go down the route of trashing him lol.

No way could Ali slip and duck Tyson`s punches while on the ropes, Tyson had faster hands than 95% of all heavyweights and was an amazing combo puncher, this myth that Ali was unhittable is bull, his whole style and movement was about avoiding the right hand which left him open to hooks.

How could Ali stun Tyson when Ruddock couldn`t spark him?

Tyson was more powerful than Frazier`s there`s no way Ali could go toe to toe with him.

Boxing is 90% mental. This is especially true when you get two people of close enough ability.

Ali was the absolute master of mind games and mentally dominating opponents. He knew how to get under their skin. He knew how to psyche them out.

Tyson was a mental midget. Lot of insecurities. Ali would find a scab and pick at it.

Muhammad had an indomitable will. Tyson tended to fold when things weren’t going his way — he certainly didn’t find another way to turn things around or overcome adversity. Ali takes him into deep water and drowns him.

    It absolutely is not.

If it was, Roy Jones Jr and Naseem Hamed and for that matter (from what we know) Harry Greb would have been opponents for prelim fighters.

The mental game is more often than not the deciding factor when two opponents are in the same level of the game.

Any boxer or coach will tell you how important the mental part is.

Was Barrera the first fighter he ever fought who had better fundamentals?

Yeah guys like Buster Douglas were never going to knock him out when Ruddock couldn't.

Tony Tucker stunned him with a left uppercut of all things. Tucker was hardly renowned as having a left uppercut to avoid or watch out for and he most certainly wasn't a big puncher.

That was so slow, no way was that fast enough to catch Tyson and nowhere near as powerful as the hook Bruno caught Tyson with, plus he caught Oscar with two hooks, no way is he nailing Tyson with two in a row, Oscar had no head movement or defense.
