The fight that TRULY established Gomez's credentials as an all time great, which he surely was.

+1 Arguello-Pryor is the greatest. The PERFECT mix of styles. Thoughtful boxer, but lead puncher vs a whirlwind, boxer-puncher. Still a very rare fight to see, it seems.

Its too bad the aura of that fight is ruined with what we know now.......that Aaron Pryor was being given medication in a water bottle to open up his lungs and make him breathe easier.......and as well could have had his wraps loaded with plaster as described by Luis Resto, Panama Lewis doing that with his fighters.

You know what? I recently saw a Miguel Cotto fan speaking about the Margarito fight, and he didn't mention one word of controversy. Not one word. I can't remember who it was, damnit, I wish I could, so I could give him full credit, but that was the most stand up post/message I've seen yet in my short time on ESB. Maybe we don't know the full story of Pryor-Arguello I, the ins and outs, but those guys both boxed A+. Like Gatti-Ward, but with A+ skills.

Dont make dumb here and try to come off politically correct.

Pryor's association with Panama Lewis is not what makes him guilty.......its his association with him plus the fact that there is video evidence during the Arguello-Pryor fight where Panama Lewis is explicitly asking his hands to give him the bottle that he mixed.
.......right before the 14th round began, Panama asked for the bottle, then he said, "no, not that one, the one I mixed."

.......for years there had been speculation that something was shady with what Panama Lewis did that night asking for the bottle he mixed......
......just weeks after that Arguello-Pryor fight, Panama Lewis gets busted taking the paddings out of one of his fighters......the same fighter Luis Resto who just last year came clean and told his story about Panama Lewis breaking asthma pills into water bottles to give to his fighters to rejuvenate their breathing.

.......there is also an article floating around that quotes Emmanuel Steward that Aaron Pryor confided in him that he got away with Shady practices during fights with Panama as his trainer.

As far as Pryor is concerned, we dont need to speculate, the man is a cheat.

As far as Margarito is concerned, you would need to speculate if or if he did not cheat previously.

.....again, with Pryor we dont need to speculate, the video evidence say's it all.
