What a start in my career.! In my first 13 months of boxing I beat 3 great ex-champions. I became a champion by beating a legend in the ring. In my short boxing career I met 6 titleholders, all in the HOF. I retired early and went into show business. Who was I ?
P.S. I once dropped an all-time great champion four times during a bout but was disqualified after the 4th knockdown...

Didn't he only beat 2 ex-champions during his first 13 months?

B,of course you are right. My guy did beat 2 ex champs in his first 13 months. But his FIRST pro bout was a 15 round win.

Yes, I could see, who you had in mind - but that you had miscounted the months.

    JB

He ended up with a record of 13-7-1 with another lose and draw coming by newspaper decisions. He only had 23 fights.

Ok J. He was a young Jimmy Britt, who started his pro career with a 15 rd win. He beat two ex world champs in his first thirteen months Then in 1904 Britt won the LW crown from Battling Nelson in his 12th bout.He then floored the great Joe Gans 4 times but was disqualified after the last knockdown. In his short career Jimmy Britt fought SIX world champions,as Kid Lavigne, Terry McGovern,Battling Nelson, Young Corbett , Frank Erne, and Joe Gans in his 23 bout career. He retired early and went into show business. One of a kind !....

I honestly thought by giving this hint, someone would have gotten it.

    JB (Jimmy Britt)

He ended up with a record of 13-7-1 with another lose and draw coming by newspaper decisions. He only had 23 fights.

He actually beat two ex World Champions in his first 9 months and 8 days as a Pro.
