    - Chad Dawson

Dawson: "I never ducked nobody man. I never ducked nobody man."

    :-( :-(

That's right, Chad, baby, just keep repeating that to yourself; pehaps it will stop those nightmares about a shark you've been having.:yep

Gary Shaw: "To Dawson’s credit, he took a belt off his waist to take the fight that everybody said wouldn’t happen. And that’s what will help boxing; not a lot of stuff that we’ve been watching on TV."

    :dead

Sure, Gary, what will help boxing is young, still unproven hyped as hell beltholders ducking dangerous mandatory challengers and picking and choosing fights against faded "name" fighters who will make them look good; thanks for saving boxing Gary!

That dumb mongoloid **** is really amazing.....He couldve fought Diaconu before fighting Tarver and there couldve been unification if he infact won or otherwise as I have no doubt Adi wouldve chased Tarver after beating the chinachinned coward........
"I never ducked nobody man." what the **** ever mongoloid....Does camping out on the WBC headquarters for 2 ****ing days to have a rightful mandatory removed sound like ducking? It sure the **** does to me and any sensible boxing purist

Dawson's delusional - Tarver's right about that. Dawson thinks he's already proven to be the best but needs the Tarver fight just to gain the acclaim he feels he already deserves.

To me, Gary Shaw + Dawson = all that's wrong with boxing, outside the ring.

I think you boys are living on a prayer a bit, Dawson will beat Tarver I reckon. Then Calzaghe will retire, then Pavlik will consolidate at 168,and this boy will be #1 in the world at his weight.

    But we can hope.

All said and done Mcgrain, Adrian Diaconu will conquer 175....after Branco and Johnson its time to clean house. Dawson wherever he is will be on the list of future casualties:good

Not living on a prayer at all, on the contrary! Tarver has a very small chance of upsetting the young buck, I think; unless Dawson screws up the fight himself, why should he lose? His temperament might get the better of him, though - he has a lot of heart and likes to trade even when he shouldn't - that's what makes his fights exciting.

As to Diaconu, he's never going to fight Diaconu; not unless he's really desperate and cornered. With Shaw in his corner, he should never get into that situation though. If he gets KOed, then he'll definitely not fight Diaconu. If he remains unbeaten, why take the risk?

You are right, the way things are going, and the way he's promoted by Shaw, not only will he be considered the best at his weight, but will be protected from proving himself against anyone that could upset him for a long time. And that's not good for boxing. Unless Hopkins beats Pavlik (quite an if), Dawson will not fight Hopkins. Will he fight RJJ, if he loses to Calzaghe? It won't make much difference. Whom do you think he'll fight after Tarver, McGrain?

You guys from canada and Romainia live on a another world, Look these guys are American and fighting on AMERICAN TV. Tarver is a ledgen of the sport, He beat a man who had not been beat in 15 years and all time great twice and all the other top 175 fighters of last 10 and you think an American TV network should go after your boy from canada who has beaten nobody inside the current top 10 over tarver, look I know you think the sun shines out of this guy ase, but it is flat out stupid to think Dawson would knock back this chance to fight tarver who think is a bum. Look your boy will get his chance in time if he can win a couple but lets get real and join the world of how boxing works.

Before starting this thread, I realised I was going overboard, but the hypocrisy and lies are just too much to bear! I know I make many good posters sick with this thing, but not as sick as Shaw and Dawson make me, with these statements. The sad thing is that the perspective we have here on ESB is completely opposite to the perspective of most fans and all casual fans in the USA, who actually congratulate Dawson for ducking Diaconu to fight Tarver. That is the consensus. I have not seen one single article even mentioning that Dawson might have ducked Diaconu or even touched on the subject or even mentioned Diaconu in the same article as Chad Dawson! All articles on the web are just praising him to the heavens and hyping him like mad. That makes me sad.

I don't think the sun shines out of Diaconu's arse at all! I only gave him 20% chance at best of beating Dawson (stoppage). I understand why it makes sense for Dawson to fight Tarver - much better risk/reward. But the lies and hypocrisy, no...I cannot let that go unanswered. I would have had little against Dawson if he had said from the start he had no intention whatsoever of fighting Diaconu because he only wanted to fight Tarver. But he didn't! He kept on promissing to fight Diaconu so that he wouldn't have to drop the belt! He cashed in on that belt whilst not allowing his mandatory a shot at it. If Diaconu had been American, do you think he would have gotten away with it? Of course not. But **** that Romanian/Canadian guy! So he ducked him in the end...we all know that. Then just shut the **** up about the subject; don't keep saying you never ducked anyone and don't praise yourself for dropping the belt to fight Tarver, when you've been hugging that belt for so long and failed to keep your promises about fghting Diaconu repeatedly. Shaw wants to make Dawson look like a hero, when he's in fact a villain here. That should make you sick too, whatever you think of limited puncher Diaconu.

As to Diaconu now, his future is in his own hands, because he's finally got that belt. If he beats Branco and if Johnson agrees to fight him, he will have the chance to prove himself against a respected, very good fighter. I am no longer worried about Diaconu's opportunities - he's got them now. It's the hypocrisy and the lies that get to me.

I disagree; that's why I make these threads, because I'm confident they are capable and willing to think for themselves. :good
