How do you know Henry could not prove to be a top level fighter one day? Was Margarito a top level fighter when he lost to Santos? Just as well we all wrote him off for ever as a result, eh? The reason you say Henry is not top level is because he hasn't beaten Diaconu, who you think is ****, because he's not beaten Henry. See the problem? Do you know how hard Henry hits or how good his chin is? No. Nor do you know how hard Diaconu hits or how well he takes a hit to the body. But the real reason Diaconu is **** is because he's not American. If he were American, he would be limited but exciting and a breath of fresh air, who would deserve a shot at the Champ, Dawson, right?

Maxx it's knowledge, sorry friend for bringing up Cotto(he's one of my favorites as well) but I was merely trying to make a point...that stylistically Diaconu is a serious nightmare for Dawson....how you can come up with a different conclusion after watching both fight is somewhat amazing....and face the facts, a majority of americans are hypebuying fools and if a fighter hasnt been on showtime or Hbo that must mean they are ****....well this isnt the case at all here...do your research as would any boxing purist, which is exactly what I've done...and its crystal clear

Obviously not. Glen Johnson has never been the best at any weight class he's fought at, at any given time.

He very well could be, but currently..he isn't.

Yes, I do see the problem. The problem is you assume I think Diaconu is **** because I don't rate him as high as I do Tarver or Dawson. That's not the case. He's a decent fighter, with relatively quick hands for his build, decent counter puncher, and good power. But he is limited and has stamina issues. The reason I say Henry is not top level, is because I saw him prior to facing Diaconu on another forum, where a poster who knew Henry personally was always posting his fight videos, and raving about him.

No, he'd still be the same fighter in my eyes. I know generally speaking, people support who they identify with. But me personally, I support the fighters who come to fight, and bring a balance of talent and excitement. I'm a black dude who's favorite fighters are Miguel Cotto and Rafael Marquez. I couldn't care less where a fighter is from. Travis Walker is from my hometown, but I'll be the first one to tell you he's not particularly talented, though I hope he does well. So I think a better question would be, if Adrian Diaconu and Lucian Bute weren't of Romanian descent, would you still feel the same way about them?

Good post. Although Bute is somewhat more deserving of the build up he's given by his small but dedicated fleet of fans. He's a good fighter.

Diaconu however...I really don't know what guys are seeing. It's a complete mystery to me.

That's pretty simple. USA is not the boxing force they used to be. There are plenty of world champions from other countries now. When the US athletes are not the best, the public go away. The only way to keep people: to organize bouts with only American boxers, old or young, shot or not, and **** the boxing rules. I have a mandatory from outside USA? **** him, that's not important, TV is the important thing. I think boxing is not going well in your country. When I read some threads, where you say a boxer is in his right not to respect the rules... Anyway, the public won't give credibility to a sport where the rules are not respected. So, boxing is dead in USA. Fortunately, Germany, Great Britain, Australia, Canada, are able to organize big fight nights. The future is outside USA.
