Obviously styles make fights and I think Lee has the style and physical tools to outbox Lemieux to a decision or late stoppage. Lemieux is a very short middleweight who is outstanding fighting on the inside. His short arms (64 inch reach) are a big advantage for his inside fighting and are the main reason he can get so much power in those viscious hooks of his. But what happens when he can't get on the inside? You saw Gates get on his bike at the weekend and use his size fairly well, and for periods Lemieux could do nothing but walk him down. Now replace the scared, limited Gates with Lee. Andy Lee, being a typical Emmanuel Steward trained fighter, is tremendous at using his jab to fight from range. Add that to the fight that he fights southpaw and he can frustrate the **** out of boxers who are smaller than him. He also has to power to KO you with either his right or his left so you walking him down is always going to be dangerous. So there, I said it, Andy Lee beats Lemieux.
Lemieux can be outboxed for sure, just need to have atleast an above average chin that can withstand atleast 2 or 3 flush shots from him. Power blinds fans into believing their fighter is something special/
Lee already had been stop by Vera who got a similar style that Lemieux expet that Lemieux technic his better then Vera IMO. I'm not sure how Lee as improve since that lost but i got Lemieux here!
Lemiux has a lot of very interesting options next year but I wouldnt be looking past Rubio just yet!!!
I was waiting for someone come out with that that response. Lee punched himself out in that fight trying to be the macho man and impress the crowd. As I'm sure you will know he was dominating the fight until that round. He's learned from it and now sticks to the game plan. He's probably rematching Vera in February, you'll then see how he's improved.
Good ! his an intersting boxer to watch! but i can't go agains't Lemieux like you can't go agains't Lee! Good style match-up!
Id give Andy a good chacne to outbox, a bih height and reach advantage for Lee and he has good boxing skills
I'll admit I haven't seen any footage of Lemieux but having seen a lot of Lee I have questions about if he can impose his advantages for a full fight. I recall rounds 4-7 against Vera, the last few rounds against Fedotovs and the last round against Belghecham. He spent far too long on the inside in those fights, but none of the fighters had as much power as Lemieux's record would suggest. For that reason I would pick Lemieux to beat him.
Lee actually seems to have a decent chin but Lemieux has been the way more impressive of the two for me.Lee will probably outbox him for a few rounds but has shown that he can be tagged quite often by average boxers.Sooner or later Lemieux will connect and that will be that Lemieux KO 7
huh? has he ever been down? does a guy literally have to have a head made of iron for him to have a good chin in your book?
Lee has never even been knocked down, he was stopped on his feet in the Vera fight. His chin is just fine. I agree with the ts, Lee has the skills, height, reach, power, and awkward style to beat Lemieux.
A mediocre journeyman with a 50% KO rate took him out. Top level fighters like Lemieaux are gonna take advantage of that questionable chin, count on it.:yep Lee should stick to trying to fight the John Duddys of the world before his suspect whiskers get exposed again.
