Lemieux has shown he is pretty effective at closing the gap. Lee can move for a few rounds but he'll have to throw some punches if he wants to score some points and from what i've seen Lemieux's handspeed and footwork are better than Lee's. It's'not uncommon for boxing fans to underrate hard punching come forward fighters and to think that anyone who likes to stick and move will outbox them. However it's alot easier said than done.
As mentioned, Lee doesn't impose his advantages that well. Unless he has improved an awful lot since the Sipos fight, i don't see him beating Lemieux.
Yes Andy Lee would beat David Lemiuex and most likely stop him. But its too early for this thread as the so called boxing fans have been completely seduced by Davids power against poor comp i may add , that they wont listen to reason. Danny jacobs would ko Lee a couple of months ago but would he now? ( I always knew he wouldnt) Lemeuix wont even get near Lee with his super bantam weight reach LOL
Exactly. I like Lee to stop Vera in the rematch. As for a bout with Lemieux, I like Lee. His skill set is better, and though Lemieux enjoys greater one-punch power, Andy can outpoint and decision him.
Lads i dont know why you have so much faith in Andy Lee, when is the last time you can say he put on a really impressive performance? Lemieux looks better every time i see him.Lee is progressing slowly, hopefully he can show us more in his upcomming fight but it will take a lot more than height and reach advantage to keep Lemieux of him, every other opponent so far has had the same advantages.
Answer to Mr.Graceland. how many David Lemieux fight have you seen? i'Ve seen all his fight and enough from Lee to tell you he's going down for SURE.
Lee is very talented but he still makes too many mistakes and with the power that Lemieux has he may well knock him out imo, still a very interesting fight, would love to see it
