...sorry to sound like a broken record, but.. Ayala? He went just under 12 rounds with AA, and got a draw vs Mora in Mora's backyard. Ayala went down hard. You could also notice a change in his approach after he took the first couple of hooks from David. But he's the only one, really... I just can't wait for David to fight Rubio. :bbb

"Abraham used his superior boxing skill to dominate most of the fight over the very tough Elvin Ayala. His relentless attack kept Ayala searching for new ways to keep him at bay.

In the 5th round, Abraham sent Ayala to the canvas with a punch that landed behind his ear. Elvin was up quickly and survived the round. In the seventh, Abraham looked to end the fight as he opened up a barrage that had Ayala doing all he could to stay on his feet."

    -ESB news

I'd rather say AA threw decent punches starting in the 4th and even tried to end it a couple times before the 12th where Ayala knew he had to attempt a KO.

Don't anybody take me the wrong way. I think Lemiuex may very well prove to be the real deal. I'm just naturally sceptical of a 21 year old kid whose best opponent was a weight drained Ayala.

Look at Pavlik. I was not sold on him at all until he stopped McKart. In that case I knew exactly what Pav was dealing with: a guy whose career was built around being double-tough, hard to beat, and impossible to stop. Pavlik dropped him like a bad habit, and made it look easy. Afterward McKart said; "I saw a lot of tape and didn't get the hype, but this kid is the real deal." That's when I was sold. Not before.

When I see young David start laying out guys who aren't suppose to get layed out, I'll be sold. Until then I will continue to watch his career with a bit of a jaundiced eye.

Pavlik and Ornelas can punch... hopefully Rubio gets asked to provide an honest assessment of David's power during the post-fight interview.
