It has little to do with the money that stands to be made or that they believe that Mayweather has lost his legs. Just before the Mayweather fight, it was announced that the positive reaction to the USADA testing in the Mayweather-Mosely fight had prompted the NSAC to meet in an effort to implement similar mandatory blood testing methods to begin as soon as the fall. Instead of seeing just how strict the new NSAC testing might be, they jumped at the Mayweather option which at the very least leaves them a window without testing. Playing the same waiting game as they did earlier this year could possibly seen them facing mandatory random blood testing until the fight. A risk i dont think they were willing to take. However, I could be totally wrong.
could it be that Manny/maybe Roach don't know, but Arum and Ariza do? I don't have any proof and I'm not trying to spread rumors, I'm just thinking out loud here. What if Manny, who obviously isn't overly educated and doesn't necessarily question his handlers, is just doing what he's told and Arum and Ariza have their plan in place for maximizing their return on Manny as a fighter. Roach has went on record multiple times with the we will test whenever etc, only to be "hushed" by I would assume Arum, is this because Arum knows something the others don't? Just a thought and a question for the board to discuss.
I've heard that Hair is just as reliable as blood...is this true? Would a Hair & Urine test be acceptable? I just want this fight to happen, regardless of how ridiculous Pacquiao's fears are. And I'd like to know I'm watching a fight where no one is cheating.
He'll just have to sport a fro for this fight. :yep Seriously, though, if hair tests are as reliable, would it be inconceivable for Pacquiao to take hair tests and Mayweather blood tests? Pacquiao would have the stigma of being a *****, but at least we'd know it's an even playing field.
I dont think freddie will make the assumption that floyds legs are gone. If he does will be a big mistake. He has to prepare thinking floyd is at his best and if on the night sees problems go to plan B. Knowing floyd he will move up a gear so u better have a few plans
Yes, 2nd-hand hearsay is always reliable. atsch Hair follicle testing can show what HAS been in the system for up to ~10 years. It does little for indicating what is CURRENTLY cycling through the system. All methods of testing can be fooled, depending on how up-to-date the testing agency's methods are relative to current masking agents. Metabolites, masking agents, hormone levels, hormonal shifts over time, blood cell counts...these all need to be taken into account REGARDLESS of bio-sample (blood, urine, saliva, hair, bone marrow, feces, etc.). The point is: persistent random testing is the best method for detection. Until athletes are tested year-round, there will always be room for "doubt". GDamn these moot, rehashed threads. Thanks A LOT, FJM Sr.!
Hair follicles, not hair strands. Strands can be masked with specific types of "shampoos"; no joke. This can also affect the follicles too, but not nearly as much. Anyway, I've covered most of this along with a couple knowledgeable posters in the past. It's searchable. I'm not gonna repeat keystrokes...
At work they did hair tests on us. The doctors said hair was most reliable because urine can be cleaned in a day or two, blood one to two weeks, and hair takes about a year to clean. If you're bald they take it from you arm pit or nuts. If you shave everywhere, they make you let it grow out for the test.
If they biopsy a follicle, they can look for drugs as far back as around a decade. They can take your eyebrow hair follicles, nose hair, eyelash, etc. I'm speaking from my experience in narco-testing, but the underlying science is the same for any drug...
They each have strengths and weaknesses. Blood and hair can't catch EPO, they can only show that their might be high crit levels. Some special roids are undetectable in urine and blood but can be caught with hair. Urine however is the only way to prove EPO use since it is the only method that DIRECTLY proves their is synthetic EPO in your system. And here's a kicker, blood, hair, and urine cannot detect gene doping anyways so haha whatever...
