I believe money was exChanged with Valuev on the recieving end. His reaction to losing was very suspect. Valuev won the fight. But the MONEY to be made by THE sanctioning body is with HAYE.

Interesting theory. I thought Valuev won the fight pretty clearly. But it doesn't have to be a payoff. The fight was hard to score, primarily because SO little action occurred. Judges know which was the promoters want it, they don't have to be told. They know where their next big fight assignments are coming from.

If we find that Haye is now signed with King etc - then I wouldn't be surprised if they were thinking of dumping Valuev (who is a bit shopworn) to go with Haye. Kind of an investment in the future if you know what I mean.

Which may be why Valuev didn't get a corrupt points decision handed to him tonight. Which I think a lot of people were worried about, despite the fact that Haye clearly won.

If Valuev was paid to lose why not take a dive? I thought Haye won a pretty close though boring fight. If Valuev was paid to lose he was taking a pretty big risk by keeping it close and competative, no?
