I believe he'd have the decision to fight once before his mandatory and I believe it will be Wilder.

It will have both the effect of making American's talk about a heavyweight boxing match for the first time since Mike Tyson and also Wlad most likely KO'ing Wilder with relative ease. Only hang up I see is not knowing if Wilder is tied to Showtime and where the fight will be.

Think Lewis-Grant, but less competitive. Yikes.

I don't know about that. Most casual American fans have never even heard of Wilder.

The American Hype machine will make sure they've heard of him if he gets a shot. If it has half the Press Mayweather-Canelo had it will do very well, relatively speaking.

It's a little too early for WIlder's management to go for the cash-out. I expect the glass -jawed fraud to be fed at least another year's worth of stiffs and washed up never wases before Wilder faces a lived body for big bucks, and predictably gets destroyed.

This is a very good point. My thought is just a gut feeling and obviously not favorited to happen.

To be fair to Michael Grant (prior to fighting Lewis) Golota, and to a lesser extent, Lou Saverese. Big Lou was probably a better fighter than anyone Wilder has fought to this point, let along Golota. Hell dragging Golota out of retirement NOW would be his best fight, lol.

Not changing my tune entirely, but I do get your point.

Not likely. It would take a lot longer to transform him into a marketable commodity than the build-up for a single fight, and I'm not seeing any real evidence of this so-called "American Hype Machine" you speak of.

Besides, Zak's right anyway. It would be shocking if his people put him anywhere near Wlad this soon. They would be the first to admit he is nowhere close to being ready for such a tall order.

Seriously. People have to wake up about Wilder. There is a REASON he's five years into his career and ancient fighters like today's Golota or Saverese would actually be a step up!!!

I mean it's mind boggling that anybody hypes this fraud. He's fought the worst competition I've ever seen for longer than anybody I can remember in 35 years of following boxing. By the time Grant was this far into his career, he had already fought Golota and was lining up to fight Lewis!

Wilder still has yet to face somebody as good Ross Purrity, who Grant fought 2 years into his career!!! :patsch

Maybe not but I would watch Wlad fight Wilder. I would not how ever watch WLad fight Pulev. Wlad was a disgrace to boxing today.

If not Pulev, then Boystov, Solis, or Chisora. Wilder obviously ain't ready.

It's arguable whether Wilder is ready for an aging journeyman like Fres Oquendo, let alone Wlad! :yep

This is true and part of the reason I surmised this could be next for Wlad - to keep his name in the minds of American's. But honestly he made 17 million for this fight, and I'm guessing not much of America watched the fight. Money is money, it doesn't have to be us dollars.

I think you're selling Wilder a bit short. He has power and pretty good punching technique. That gives him a nice advantage over many potential foes.

He may well be a KO waiting to happen, but I think he'd annihilate Fast Fres.

This is also an argument on why he would cash out now. I used to think he would try to win a trinket but it looks like Arreola and Stiverne could fight for the WBC title if Vitali retires and I don't see Wilder fighting (or beating) either of them. If Wlad offered Wilder a handout at this point I could see him and his team deeply considering it.
