What I'm trying to say is, I'm not ruling out a win on either side, but I'm more favourable on a Maidana win right now.

I think its one of those, If Khan's ring generalship is bang on, it will be made to look routine, if its not, he could be on the end of a thrashing.

Im taking this fight as 60/40 in Khan's favour, mainly because I think he has the skills to disengage Maidana if he fights the right fight, but what I will say, is that old adage, that one punch can change a fight, really! applies here, simply because, generally when people use that term, its essentially true, but rarely born out as the favourite generally wins majority of the time, however when one guy has a shaky chin, its an extremely relevant thing to say, irrespective of what advantages he has in skills.

Take Junior Jones, I feel he had more talent that Khan, he even managed to beat Orlando Canizalez, Barrera 2x, however it did'nt stop McKinney knocking him out, a guy Barrera had already beaten.

I guess Lewis is one of the few examples of a fighter who managed to attain elite level status, whilst having what some believe a shaky chin, although I dont think Lewis had as shaky as Khan does.

    Very much agreed.

Khan SHOULD win, but I personally don't think he can keep his composure under the pressure that'll unfold in rounds 1-6.

Thing what I would worry about for Khan, is that instead of stepping, then pivoting the way a normal fighter would, he takes a lot of little steps when he uses his legs (moves laterally), which IMO, makes it easier for the opponent to catch up with you when they put the pressure on, which is why I think he got so disorganized toward the end of the Kotelnik fight.

If Khan can beat Maidana, He can beat any of the other fights at 140lbs without doubt.

Its a make or break fight for him, Beat Maidana and he can go onto unify the division, Move up weights and fight the best.

Loose and his career is over.

    :lol::lol::lol:

I love how both outcomes are extremes for you. Win and he beats everyone in the division. Lose he should retire. Don't be a muppet, beating Maidana does not mean he automatically beats Timothy Bradley who is a completely different fighter with a well rounded skillset. And losing does not mean his career over, for the same reason beating Maidana doesn't mean he beats everyone losing to Maidana does not mean that he couldn't beat others.

Ortiz looks like the most likely of all the light-welters to beat Khan in my opinion. No other opponent has the combination of skills, speed and power that he posesses

I see Khan dropping Maidana on seat of his pants at some point, keep thinking early doors...just keep seeing a sharp 1'2 dropping an off balance Maidana.

Let's face it if we knew Khan had decent chin we wouldn't even talk about this fight, The interest revolves around these points

-Khan's biscuit tin being **** poor
-Khan sticking to plan for 12 rounds under pressure
-Khan's first real test of his chin since Prescott, every other opponent hasn't brought enough power to hurt him to table and that says alot!
-Khan actually fighting someone who's first instinct is to attack his opponent and not stand there and watch Khan run around the ring like Speedy Gonzalez.

Maidana won't win on points, He's admitted he's coming for that one big shot.
Is Maidana's power that great?? You look at the numbers and would say so but when you watch and sift through his record it's not like he's Valero. IMHO he has a dig and spitefulness to his punches but he's not concussive. He's going to stun Khan then have to finish him.

My major interest is Khan's regained arrogance, the same arrogance that seems to be surfacing that got him kipping in the corner that night in the MEN. Will he fall apart and allow his machismo to tear apart all his good work?

Intriguing battle but Khan will still face critics and haters even with a win...no win situation springs to mind..

Khan wants to be the best, thats his drive everyday, in order to be the best you got to fight the hard fights, the fights some people say he would not win, thats why he left Warren and joined GBP.

I really think Maidana has not faced anyone even close to Khan boxing skillset, Ortiz made Maidana look good due to his poor gameplan and boxing. For me Maidana is no more than a good puncher who has lots of holes in his game which team Khan will be looking to expose.

Khan brings his A game (which he will, and Roach and Alex will see to that) Maidana is going to look like a lost puppy in there, but Khan dont have much room for error here as Maidana will always have a punchers chance.

The key for Khan is too keep his feet moving and counter his looping hooks. Maidana dont have to best of chins also and if he pushes too hard he could walk onto Khan's shots and get really hurt because he is open to counters.

For me Khan wins inside 8rds TKO/KO

    Me too..

Maidana is open to that 1'2, I think Khan has better pop at 140, and Maidana is a bit chinny, bit like Salita.

Just watching clips of both mens recent fights. Maidana clearly wasn't at peak of powers against Corley. Looked sluggish and even more cruder then normal.

He may have success with Bodyshots, Khan never takes shots well to body and he done Cayo with a lovely short shot on the inside.

Khan so quick against Malignaggi but he overreaches at times and that's a dangerous game against a puncher like Maidana who throws straight right and looping rights. He mixes that side of his offensive up well i'd give him that.
