Shannon briggs has said in the past he wants to fight evander holyfield(cause shannon likes pickin on old men)..........if this fight happens i hope he knocks the ****** briggs out.
Steroid muncher Briggs would get stopped. Holyfield, even at this age.. has a decent frequency, and Briggs at this age, can't run a mile without gassing Im afraid. Briggs would try to drop bombs for three rounds, Holyfield would go nowhere, then Briggs would be embarrassed and stopped.
I would like to see someone stop Briggs. What a silly ***** he is. Think Holyfield would stop him inside of 5.
briggs iz a ***gg........... Thinks he deserves a titlr shot after 3 yrs of inactivity and last big fight was a loss........
I did not see him fight last night, but I was glad to see that he won... It would have really sucked for him to record a loss against Botha...Considering his age and inactivity as of late, he did well in dispatching him. The problem with this win however, is that it will only fuel his desire to fight on, but frankly I think its going to take a mandated intervention to force him into retirement... Nothing else including age, losses, or even health issues have seemed to keep him out of the ring..
I don`t get why Briggs gets so much hate, he did win the linear and WBO title and gave lenox fits in the early rounds. Briggs has more power than anyone out there and still has lights out ko power. Holyfield could end up a vegitable if they let this fight happen.
Because hes not as good as he says he is. He fights for three rounds and then gives up and becomes a rollerskater
he did win those titles and was quite entertaining in the 90s but it's been a long time since he was relevant. he showed a lack of discipline for years in what could have been a comeback. asthma aside, his stamina is apalling. and i think he's in the top 5-10 hitters at heavyweight but wlad at this point punches harder as does tua for certain.
Briggs is a good puncher, but hes not in condition to deliver his power after a few rounds. Its been the same thing with Briggs his entire career. It was amazing he has that one late round KO, but everything else has been Briggs being dangerous for three or four rounds and then becoming very ordinary, so much so that a guy like Botha could make it the distance, or Darrol Wilson could whether his storm and stop him. Hes just a guy who had talent no doubt, but little dedication to what it took to be a real championship fighter, and it was highly documented as he was coming up. Teddy Atlas made fun of the guy while he trained him, because he always thought Briggs thought himself as more of an actor than a fighter and never had dedication.
Yup. I like Briggs because he always tells it like it is. Briggs doesn't claim to be more than a guy with a huge punch. Briggs is always an interesting match up because of his power.
