I'm not sure Bute is in much of a spot BB. They'll be 2 guys getting knocked out of the Super 6 in a couple of months for him to fight and then he can take on the winner if he chooses.

I didn't see the fight. The report on the front page said Dawson was "to respectful" of Pascal but was it just a case, as in the past, of Dawson not being able/ willing to sustain his work?

 

What happened in the Dawson v Pascal fight? From what i've read in the general forum (which is no good because all you get is "HYPE JOB" and "FRAUD" in replies).

I read that Pascal has Dawson all over in rounds 7,8 and 9 and was leading the card's going into the 11th. Dawson has Pascal everywhere and it looked as if Pascal was about to go, then a "mysterious" clash of heads, to where the fight is stopped and Pascal wins.

Is that right or was the article i read wrong?

I'm not sure. When he opened up, there was little Pascal could do. Dawson's punch accuracy, his selection and fluidity were exceptional. Except that he'd only throw when he knew he could land and would constantly back up.

Pascal committed to his shots, would hurt Dawson and then try to follow it up. Dawson would hurt Pascal then back off to admire his work. It was intensely frustrating.

But, in the 11th, despite all the "Dawson was going to stop him" - Pascal actually threw a right I think that made Dawson back off. Then he was back in stalking mode. If Dawson had pressed Pascal, he could have gotten a referee stoppage.

I don't think Dawson was unlucky, I think he just faced a guy who was prepared to do what he won't: fight.

Dawson hurt Pascal in the opening thirty seconds and then he stops throwing. They both throw and, as a result of their stances, the heads clash. It could just as easily have been Pascal that had been badly cut. Dawson wasn't cheated out of the fight or anything. He lost fair and square. If he could have had Pascal out of there, what was he waiting for?

 

No it wasn't, he was beating Andrade pillar to post. Getting knocked down right at the end of a fight isn't a robbery. And he destroyed Andrade in the rematch.

 

Really wish I'd watched this, will have to watch it to really see but am I the only one who fancies Dawson still in a rematch? Although I would love Pascal to win that too.
